I'm going to be a grandma in 2 1/2 months. What is you favorite experience as a grandparent? I am so-so-so excited about this birth, and I get to be there for the delivery. I can imagine that will be exciting but share with me your favorite experiences so I know what to look forward to and how to prepare for them. I already have a scrap book set aside for the years.

My step-dad came into my life about four years ago, when I was nine. At first, I thought he was cool because I never had a strong male figure in my life. He thought it was cool, too because he never had kids before. But then I got older, went through a growth spurt, and now he can't stop yelling at me. Sometimes, he's cool, but a lot of the times, he's yelling at me. Whenever I try to talk to him about it, he always interupts me and says things like " I buy you things, I take you places." But things can't buy love. My mom says he loves me, but I will never know because of the words he says, and the words he doesn't say. I have to live him every day and, it kills me because I want to have that relationship I missed out on for so many years

The things my step-dad yells at me about are really stupid, too. He can't care less if I'm flunking out of eigth grade (I make staright A's, but he'll never know that). He's more conserned if my room's clean, and if I'm chewing with my mouths closed

do you that its okay that we have sperm banks? don't you think that the baby has the right to know his dad and live like a normal family? what if 2 kids of a sperm donor ever met, liked each other and got married, without ever knowing that they are brother and sister , i know that's really hard to happen like one in a billion but isn't the thought enough to think about ?
and what if the donor lied in his reports how would you ever know? there isn't a couple who got married and didn't find some thing about each other so how about ppl who had never met ?
i know that every women has the right to have a baby and be a mother but don't babies have the right to have a dad i think its ?
and what about dads who may not know any thing about there kids wouldn't they want to know ? or is it just a money thing coz it looks like it to me ?

as you may see clearly i don't approve of it, but i want to know what you all think too

How many times can you tell someone to leave you alone. They keep on and keep on for over an hour nagging at you. You walk away they follow you. It is going on nearly 2 hours.

My daughter refuses to talk to me.
she is upset with me because I stuck with a hard marriage, making her life hard also.
My DH and I get along very well now, but she is older now. and has children of her own.
She still thinks I shoud just up and leave my husband...
How can I convince her that I do not want to do that, I am fine, we get along well now.

Here’s the situation, wife wants to “hide” and protect money set aside for savings and retirement, etc. from husband with major gambling problem. Will having a savings or brokerage account in her name and a daughter’s name only be sufficient to protect from any “legal” proceedings (eg. Divorce, separation) or does the account need to be placed in a living trust or other estate planning tool? This issue seems to me that the money put away constitutes as “community property” in CA. CA is a community and no-fault divorce state.

My parents are in the middle of an ugly separation. I have a 2bd/2ba condo I own and live in alone. Its only a moatter of time before my dad asks to stay with me. I love my dad and want to help him out, however, I would like to avoid having him move in with me. I just kicked out my roommate so I can live alone and enjoy the bachelor life!!! How can I proceed without having my dad move in, and not look like a bad son?

This is a brother who is in his 60's and probably involved in drugs also. And he is not financially capable of paying for rehab in a private pay facility even if he was willing to get treatment, which I'm sure he is not willing.

I went to the doctor today, because my suspected that I had an ear infection. When we got their the doctor told me to lay down on the exam table and I did. He went in the other room, and came back a few minutes later with a silver tray. All of the sudden, he reached under my skirt, pulled on my thong and jabbed a thermometer up my butt. Wasn't this a bit inappropriate for a doctor to do?

My mother in law has been living with us for a few months. During this time she has become difficult to be around. We have 4 children. The oldest 2 are from a different relationship. She is constantly favoring 1 over the other 3. This has led to many arguments. I am not sure what to do. My husband has tried to talk to her many times regarding this issue. She constantly takes it as an insult. She now has other members of our family acting this way. What can we do to change this...

My daughter at age 17 moved out of my house and into her mothers house, basically because I have rules and I admit they may have been somewhat tight at times. Ever since then "Jessica" doesn't make any effort to make any contact with us. My son still comes over every other week and even makes an effort to spend time with us (wife, and younger kids) on his "off" weeks. This year I have seen Jessica (whom I truely do love more than anything, and do miss everyday) only about 10 times, with a total of about 20 hours. Now she has come forward and asked If I will pay for her books for college, and give her money for school clothes. I am really torn about this issue. I feel that I am obligated to help my daughter in anyway that I can financially can, but I also feel that my daughter has an obligation to keep in contact with her family. What would you do in this situation? I have tried to keep in contact with Jessica, but she seems like she just doesn't have "time".

Ok..basically over the last year or two my sister who is 19 has started hanging out with complete wastes of life..total addicts..etc..My mother has done nothing short of provide a very nice life for her and while my mother does have a bit of an anger management issue, she makes sure you have everything you could need and then some. Lately my sister has been blowing up at everyone she knows basically, she has told my mother that she never was a mother to her and told my father the same, shes made it so bad that my mother is near a breakdown, my father just wont take it anymore, and everyone she comes in contact with eventually cant stand it either. She tells all kinds of people how bad her life has been, how bad my mother abuses her verbally and physically etc. I have even heard she told some people some things about me that made them think I was "creepy". We are seriously beginning to beleive she is really mentally ill, but we dont know what to do. Any suggestions?
