Probably the same reason my 2 yr old does the same thing: He wants attention or simply wants to explore.

It's not easy, but try to keep him busy with something less destructive. My wife is pregnant and she finds it hard to manage him. When I am home trying to clean the place, he likes to be nearby getting into mischief.

It will be good to have our second boy to keep them occupied. Just 1 more year. ;-)

Your three yr old is bored and needs more attention when kids don't get the attention they want they tear up things because they figure ok she's too busy to play with me but if I tear up something she has to stop what she's doing to yell at me so any kind of attention is better than none. And it probably would help if the baby took frequent trips to the park

Children often act up because they want attention. We all want attention. Give him time with you as well as things to do on his own (NOT watch tv). Set rules and enforce them. A child of 3 understands the meaning of No.

The child is testing you. He will do this from now until he leaves home. If you don't set limits and apply consequences for noncompliance, you will live to regret it and he will soon be totally out of control. Tough love!

Your three year old is smart because he or she is curious about things. This is a good sign and an annoying habit but curiosity has gotten the best of your three year old.

Set his limits in his room. If he messes up something else make him pick it up. Stand behind him til he does. If you don't set limits now can you imagine an out of control 15 year old? (and 3 is not much of a baby. they know what rules are and they will abide by them if you make them.) m

Oh I remember mine being exactly the same. It has to do with him/her wanting your attention. Mine would always do something naughty when I was on the telephone. In those days, we did not have cordless telephones, and they knew that it was difficult for me to reach and stop them, unless I kept disturbing the call.

Let me encourage you ..... it comes to pass! lol

because he isnt being watched by his parents. (dont take that offensively, its just the way kids are) I dont have kids, but I was told by a babysitting class to NEVER let the kids out of your site. they even told me to take them to the bathroom with me. I know that seems extreme, but if you have to do that then thats what you gotta do. good luck!

She needs to be taught, have you disciplined her? then you have to watch her more carefully, and teach her what not to do , explain why, this is how they learn, have patients. Applaud her when she puts her toys back.
