I'm going to be a grandma in 2 1/2 months. What is you favorite experience as a grandparent? I am so-so-so excited about this birth, and I get to be there for the delivery. I can imagine that will be exciting but share with me your favorite experiences so I know what to look forward to and how to prepare for them. I already have a scrap book set aside for the years.

My favorite experience was being there for the birth of both my Grandchildren. Bring the video camera when she goes into the hospital.

Well my granddaughters are now 6 and 7 years old, but I love and enjoy every second that I get to spend with them. Being a male neither really liked males when they were younger and so would cry whenever Papa came over. This did hurt a little bit but my daughter in law explained that they were the same with all males, this made it a little easier but not a lot. Ha! But have had so many memorable experiences with them that it's hard to single out any. Enjoy going to watch them at their gymnastics, or swimming lessons and ballet recital last year. They have a pool and it's really cool going swimming with them. I am in a wheelchair a lot of the times and when we were downtown and had one on each handle trying to puch Papa I felt very proud. So be excited, proud, happy but most of all be loving to your grandkids cause they grow up so darn fast. And besides you can spoil them rotten then send them home to their parents just like my and probably yours did. HA! Happy grandparenting.

I love the one on one time with the grand-kids and then once a year I try to have a mud pie day and get all the grand kids over and have a place in the yard ready for the making of mud pies. the only rules are no throwing or eating the mud. The kids rub mud on each other, make pretend food out of it and play with the worms etc. then we fill the kiddy pool with water and turn on the sprinkler and they all get clean with bubble bath and soap. the kids love it and the parents are not invited so they are free for a day to get as dirty as they want. Lots of pictures and lots of memories. My goal in life with the grand-kids is to make memories so when I am gone they will have them and someday will do the same... and they never forget.

My favorite experiences are having them call me grandma and sitting on my lap to watch movies. We built them a wooden swingset and watch them play on it..That is a memory builder.
