my daughter got me a gift certificate at 50 yrs old to a spa for a massage, it was great, i had never had one and one day I was stressed and decided to go use the gift. she could buy me another one and I would be sure to use it.

Something from the heart. Make a photo album of the whole family , If u have a creative mind try doing a scrapbook. Then u don't need a whole bunch of pictures and it gives you a chance to say some really nice things about her. If that's not an option try buying her a class like dancing, panting etc... And if that is also not a very good idea try either jewelery or a gift card. Good luck!

get your husband to find a nice picture of her (One of her favourites) then have it framed in something she would really like set it out on a table with some snacks around it, invite her friends and family over for a "tea" and some snacks. Don't call it a birthday call it a tribute to a wonderful mother. After the party tell her to take the frame with her!

take her out for a very nice dinner or lunch and a movie. people don't need material things at that age...moments spent together are a great gift. just make her feel special and appreciated.
