Are you asking what these might be?

There are your traditional "Mother, Father, children" families.
There are the more prevelent "Parent, Step-parent, other parent..children" families

There are an ever increasing number of same gender parented families.

And of course they are the single parent families, grandparent families, foster families, adoptive families, other relative or power of attorney families as well.

Nuclear, reconstituted( bringing a child from a previous relationship into another), same sex, matrifocal( mother is the head) , symmetrical( role of mother and father are the same), sibling, extended, single parent, family based on common law union and visiting union.
