my father in law is that way...just accept it and send a thank you card w/ a very personal message...they want to help even though you did not ask, you may offend if you don't accept. if it bothers you that much take half for yourself and send the other to your fav charity or give it in sunday morning service.

Just say "Thank You, but I would rather you give it to the homeless shelter or whatever your charity may be. If they do great, if they don't great. I do this all the time and I've gotten letters from the shelter that I ask people to give the money to thanking me for my donation. So I know some of the people DO give it to charity. It also gives me an opportunity to give the person information about my charity and hopefully they will also give in their name so we both become winners.

You don't, you take the money and say thank you . After wards you give the money to someone who is in need . That way you don't stop the first person from being blessed and you are sowing a seed offering to be blessed when give the money away.

Did you ever heat the Chain of Love by Clay Walker. It talks about the very thing you are in search of...just simply tell them if they wish to pay you...they do not owe you a thing, keep the chain of love going by passing the knidness on to the next person. Tell them, when they see someone in need to help them, and that is how they can pay you back That is what life, love & God is all about. Love one another and pass on kindness. Treat everyone you meet as though it is Christ himself.

Just explain to these people that that was your good deed for the day and for good deeds you don't get money for it. I have had the same experience and for some reason the elder people feel they need to pay me for helping them out. I simply told them that every day I need to do a good deed and today was their good deed day. If they persist, then tell them you will take the money but it will go to your favorite charity.

if they will absolutely not take no for an answer,,,,
use the money in return, on them,,,,,ie: to buy them something, or take them out for dinner, etc.....
you get the idea.
remember,,,,, giving is better than recieving,,,,
so allow them this gift to you,,,, it makes them feel good....
and return the same gift back somehow (with their own money)...
it is a win-win for both of you.
