Our son (11 months) just had a triple organ transplant in November and he is a lot of work to take care of. He gets medicine every couple of hours so we are up all night. He also has a feeding tube and an ostomy which require a lot of care. He goes to the hospital three times a week between speech therapy and checkups with the transplant team. Long story short, we are exhausted. Now he wants to move his stepdad in from Nebraska (we are in DC) b/c he lost his job and does not want to take one out there. He wants to keep a job w/the same company because he "likes to travel". I told him no way he just needs to find a job where he is, but my husband told him he can stay with us FOR A FEW MONTHS while he saves money for an apartment out here. Am I nuts or should he tell him to find another way?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that our son is immunosuppressed and can get very sick if he's exposed to something he's not used to (i.e. an asshole from Nebraska).

Hi

I live alone which can be a struggle and lonely some times, I split up with long term financee a couple of years back. Since then I had small relationships which have ended up in heart ache, guess I know how to pick em lol.

My confidence is very low and I am feeling very low, bit lonely also I guess espeically at weekends. I recently started seeing this women its now a couple of months in, and found out on xmas eve she done the dirty on me.

Does anyone else have a rough few years like this, does it get better and all work out for the best in the end? I feel like giving up, sick of going to work coming home to empty house and getting hurt in relationships.

I hate being by myself and on my own.

His whole family is really messed up. He shot himself and they had to find him. My finacee can't sleep, and when he does he has horrible nightmares. His whole family can't eat and they cry all the time. It's only been a few weeks, so im hopeing that it's normal. I've never had anyone close to me die so im not sure what to do or say... I'm just trying to be there for him. Any ideas of what could help?? Am i doing the right thing?? We're fighting too, and we usually don't. Is it because of the greif?? Should i ignore it? What should i do??

My ex-boyfriend of 3 years broke up with me a few months ago. I was very crashed over it. but he has been always contacting me, saying he finds it hard, he misses and loves me. Of course I felt the same. He even came to see me twice as he missed me too much. But he said we cannot get together as the long-distance situation hasn't changed. Last time he contacted me, he told me he wants us to work things out but then he backed off again saying it's still not the right time for us. I was hurt again so I asked for no contact even though I really love him and want to be with him. Its hard really. But he eamiled me a week ago saying he can't help his feelings but he misses me, thinks of me and doesn't want me to think he doesn't want me anymore. He emailed again 2 days later. I replied but I got upset when he said he is going abroad with his friends to celebrate New Year. He said he will leave me alone now as he can't take blames from me. I am so hurt. I love him. I am 30 yrs old.

Ok, i'm a fairly attractive man (i'm not amazingly good looking) and i am attracted to beautiful women (as all streight men are) but not so long ago i went on a date with an beautiful woman but she was so incredibly boring i actually went home early instead of going to her place, and i kno just about every lad will call me an idiot for doing that (all of my friends did) but she was so dull that i felt like walking out during the meal. now do most of you go for a mixture of a good personality and looks or just the one?

Please, I only want serious answers and also if you are/were in the same situation then let me know.

I feel that whatever I do I can't live up to my big bro. He's 18 (I'm 16) and he's captain of the football team and is a straight A student. I play on the football team aswell and he makes me call him captain just to annoy him.

What can I do to become my own person.

A couple weeks ago a women cut my face with a knife after we got in a heated argument. You never think someone is going to pull out a weapon when you're in an argument. *sigh* But anyway... the doctor told me that I will likely have deep scaring where I was cut. It starts from the bridge of my nose and goes down across my left cheek. Obviously, I don't exactly feel "pretty" any more - not even on my good days.

But be honest with me, is a girl with a scar like that even date material?

Ok so there's this one popular dude that everyone seems to crush on....but already six of my friends like him and so do I!!! If so, we always seem to argue on who gets him or not -___- (I hate competition!!) Also how do I get that popular guy to like me more than my 6 friends? Like what to wear and how to act? I really appreciate that :] <3

....to have expectations that my father should occassionally let me know he cares about me? He doesn't call me. He rarely answers his phone and only calls me back when there's some sort of business to take care of. When I tell him about my college events, he uses that feigned tone of voice that you use with a 2 year old.
I'm not asking for constant reassurance because I don't want that. I'm asking that my dad shows me he cares about me now and then and not seem so distant. I can't handle these "active" and "inactive" phases he goes through--and I feel so invalidated as an adult because it hurts my feelings so much. I quit trying to maintain a relationship this year because he wouldn't reciprocate the efforts and I didn't want to waste my time.

Is this wrong or childish of me to have these expectations from a parent? I just don't understand this anymore.

My friend wants to leave her husband due to catching him committing adultery in her own house. She doesn't want anything from him except a divorce which he claims he won't grant her. She is very worried about costly legal fees, and I am trying to help her find a sound resolution.

When I filed my own uncontested divorce, I did it myself, the only fees I had to pay where the filing fees, and there were no lawyers involved because both parties agreed on the divorce.

Is there anything she can do to make her divorce inexpensive and quick on her part? This is taking place in Illinois. ( I know some states have different laws)
