Let's say you have been dating this person for a year and a half and then this person tells you that they are facing a personal crisis and ask for some time away from you to solve those issues by themselves. Whether they will come back or not, they can't commit. But the reason is that - only when they get a perspective of their own life and where they are and where they are going, they can't make a commitment. And they make no demands on you too. And they will upkeep whatever (monetary, house mortgage payments, children expenses, house rent, whatever) commitments they make with you for that period.

Let me hear your views on whether you will be willing to give that space. From dating singles, marrieds, males, females, male in the pair asking for the space or being given the request, or the female in the pair asking for the space or being given the request. All perspectives welcome!

i'm seventeen and i'll be going to college next year. my problem is that my family is always fighting, and my younger brother is really affected by it.

by fighting, it's not just shouting. it escalates sometimes in physical violence which affects my brother even more.

on one hand, i want to go to college as far away as possible but i'll be worrying about my brother the whole time. i know how depressed teens can self-mutilate and develop complexes, and i don't want that to happen to him.

i can't exactly suggest that my whole family goes to therapy, because they'd probably kick me out of the house for daring to suggest something like that.

the fighting is mainly between my parents and my mother and my older sister.

i don't want to stay here. i'm sick of the atmosphere and there's no good colleges around anyway.

what do i do?

I am 19, have been dating my bf for 4 years, and still a virgin... everyone thinks that this is hard to believe and does not believe either of us that we have not done the deed. everytime we deny it, they will roll their eyes or say something like "yeah sure"...it kindof bothers me for some reason. ...get married on my fiance's grandparent's wedding anniversary? My fiance' and I are having a Autumn '09 wedding with an Old English feel. He proposed on October 19, and we were considering that as the date when we found out that was when his grandparents were married. The reason we were considering that day (besides the fact that he proposed on that day) was because in our area the color is usually beautiful by that time, and isn't too cold, which is important for our outdoor wedding.

okay, so i like this guy and im wondering what i should think of this:

here's the scene:
me, him, and two other guys are all in a group talking. Tyler's asking me questions about myself, as if he really does want to know me better, when one of the other guys, jokingly says "hey Tyler, you want to get in Carrie's face, don't you?" and in my opinion, it looked like he freaked out. he looked all embarrased, and he backed out of our little "chat circle" and said something like "Woah, wait a minute!" but he said it jokingly...sorta...idk that's where im confused. sorry if it doesnt make sense...can someone explain this?

I've seen the concerns by women that do it all, but I'm interested in hearing about the men. I'm a very successful professional man that has been happily married for 7 years. The only sore spot in our marriage is that I feel my wife doesn't carry her weight. I do more laundry than her, at least as much dishes, far more grocery shopping, plus am responsible for all the traditional male duties like all yard work - she doesn't touch a leaf or a flower. I also cook dinner more than she does, and am very active in the care and well being of our 2 yr old. We have a housecleaner, and an au pair that does our childs dirty work, plus cooks many days. I'm the one that decorates our house for holidays and does the heavy lifting when we entertain friends. I feel taken advantage of because I do things that I expect my wife to do, and when we discuss, she feels like I do these things because I have a higher standard. Am I a grumpy husband, or do I have a legitimate gripe?

be mad at my friend? I am mad at her too by the way. lets say her name is Anni. I was playing a joke on my friend Tanya. i brought cookies to school and i wasn't going to give her one when I gave everyone else one. A couple of my other friends thought it would be funny when i told them about it before school. At lunch I gave everyone a cookie except Tanya and then anni was like gosh why don't you give her a cookie? So i took her aside told her to promise not to tell Tanya and i told her the story. Then we sat down and Anni left with tanya and when they came back tanya was mad at me. I got mad at Anni after that. the next day was the dance and my friend amanda told her boyfriend she wasn't going, just so he wouldn't go and then she did go. he ended up going to and i asked why he came, cuz usually hes not the typoe to go to those sorts of things unless amanda is there and he said because anni told him how amanda lied. so now tanya, me, amanda, a different amanda are mad at her for that. Also a friend of ours named Danni is mad at her because she elbowed her in the chin on purpose in a game in gym( I was there and saw it happen) Do you think we all have a right to be mad at her? We all know we can’t trust her now of course. All the people that I didn’t say anything about a story why they should be mad at her are mad at her cuz of the me thing and the Amanda thing. And by the way Tanya isn’t mad at me anymore. She was only mad until the morning of the dance. Wut do you think of this situation?

We split up 2 years ago but decided to stay married for health insurance reasons.We decided to never sell the house, he would live in it but I would have access when I needed it ( my job had me traveling ).
I met someone on the net and said he should do the same. So, I took him shopping, got him a new do and took pictures then set him up with a profile on the personals.
He'd call me with updates on how he was doing.
Then he met her.
Communication changed.He asked for a divorce and said he wanted to sell the house. I was no longer traveling and since he moved in with her, I moved back home. But I couldn't get in the day I drove back home. My daughter told me his new g/f said he had to change the locks or she would break up with him.
He called and told me he could no longer talk to me on the phone or she would break up with him.
He said we could no longer get a divorce on our own and had to use a lawyer or she would break up w/him.

Am I a bad daughter? My mom and her boyfriend has been going out for almost 2 years now. She works full time, and every night she sleeps at her boyfriend's home which is right across from ours. I only see her twice a day...when she drops me off to school and when she comes back home just to change out of her work clothes and then she goes across to her boyfriend's home. Then tonight, my mom comes home twice, once at 6PM and then she went out and came back at 8PM and asked me if I ate yet. (I starve myself...plus she has no time to grocery shop...I know how to cook but I am afraid of making food as I've almost burnt our home twice). I say yea (though I haven't), and she tells me that Ron, her boyfriend took her out to dinner, but he also asked her if I was going too. She thought I ate already...so she didn't bring me.

Well..I sorta have the biggest crush on a junior at my school. i am a freshmen. He is really hott and he gets really good grades and so many people tell me he's such a sweet and nice guy! Whenever I am around him i can't stop blushing and whenever i see him he makes me happy. i can't stop thinking or talking about him. but i barely know him and i have not said one word to him but i really want to get to know him. I am in desperate need of help! Tomorrow is my 8th wedding anniversary and I am freaked about what to do and little to no money to do it with? A little about us... Lately we have been distant financial blues I guess you could say. Holidays are near and were both stressed beyond our limits. I really have little money to work with and he especially would not want me spending "unneccesary" money. On the other hand I want to "WOW" him.
