My spouse is an alcoholic and a deadbeat and although I know they are no longer close, I think it will still be very difficult for her.

ever since i read 'Happiness Sold Seperately' i've been disgusted by married people who have affairs.I've always thought it was horrible but this book just really opened my mind to see how disturbing it really is!If you disagree with me i'd like to know why, but please dont be rude or snobbish about it.

I've been with the same guy for 5 years, we have a son together. We have been married for a little over a year. We have been fighting lately and I don't know what to think. Is it normal to have arguement? I mean we are never violent but the latest fight got to the point where we were just blaming eachother for things and we were both threatening divorce and I was holding a magazine and he ripped it out of my hands and said I wasn't listening. Which is true. When we start fighting it just gets to the point where I try to drown it out. Sometimes I feel maybe I'm just in it for our son, but then other times I htink I'm so lucky to have him as a husband. He tells me that I want him to be perfect all the time and I guess I do expect him to act a certain way. I don't know I'm so confused. Is it always suppose to be happy when you're in love?? I've just gotten to the point where I think neither one of us knows whats going on. I almost feel as though I'm losing control. What are your thoughts

I'm 25 have a wonder relationship with my boyfriend. I'm thinking about moving in with him in the near future. I know people say wait till marriage. What if you don't want to get married? I know of people just being life partners not just gays but adults with kids they just don't feel the need to get married.

Now a days why get married besides for the tax beaks and fun wedding party.
I feel the sanctity of marriage is dead. No one wait till they are married. Too many marriages end after a year or 2 now a days.

Can someone tell me why? Don't get all religious on me. I'm raised Catholic but don't agree on many things organized religion teaches. That's another topic.

What are some of your views on marriage in this day and age?

I saw on a yahoo video that a girl got detentions for hugging friends, and I think that it's just frickin jacked up for schools to ban hugs. Kissing and holding hands have a good reason to be banned, but hugging to me is not a crime at all. I live in California near San Jose, and I want to know if they'll ban hugging around there. I give my friends hugs all of the time, and it never hurt anybody!

An odd question, but not a joke question.

I am an ordained Minister through the Universal Life Church in California. I currently reside in Kentucky. I got my ordination and have done nothing with it in the 7 years since i got it. I was wondering if anyone knew if i could sign/officiate my own marriage? Such as, my fiancee and I are planning a large wedding of our dreams for a few years down the road, but we do not want to wait to get married. Basically we are going to the courthouse and eloping, and then when we have the money, we are going to have a wedding/vow renewal. So yeah, just wondering if i can do that or if i have to get another priest to do so.

When a man wants to go out with you, he has to play along with the stupid @$$ games. You play hard to get, give hints, don't return phonecalls and all of that bullshit. Is that supposed to be cute. It's not cute and sexy. It's really annoying and no one wants to go through all of that bull$hit. If you like a boy and he likes you back, why not just get together instead of waiting so long for some dumb $hit?

My boyfriend and I were arguing after a night of drinking. It got heated and when I went to leave I kicked the corner of the sliding glass door in anger. I was not indending to break it or cause damage, but I did. It is costing me 500 it replace it. I have paid all but 50. I am a single mother and am struggling right now. I feel that he was at least 10 percent of the problem during the arugement and 50 dollars is not much to ask him to pay. I do have a career but it is slow right now. I am trying to juggle a career, school, and daycare and every other expense. Am I asking too much? I know it sounds pathic but it was really hard to come up with 450 and really don't have the other money.

I got married and honeymooned in a foreign country. When my wife and I got back to the States, we failed to register within our state. Now we are discussing getting an annulment. The only problem is if our marriage wasn't recognized in the US, I am worried the IRS may come after us because we filed our taxes jointly when still together. Any thoughts?

I met my husband about 14 years ago. I was 16, he was 17. After we dated almost a year, I found out he cheated on me with his brother's girlfriend. So, I cheated on him. After that, it sort of became a pattern. He'd cheat on me...I'd cheat on him. In the years we've been together, I've had an on again, off again affair with my cousin's husband. I kissed my friend's boyfriend. I kissed a guy I met in college. I had a 4 month long affair with my husband's brother...before we were married. I cheated for about 3 months with a man who was a friend to both me and my husband. Most recently, I cheated with my husband's best friend after I found out he'd had an affair for about 9 months. This lasted about 10 months. Everytime I've cheated on him, it's been because I found out he cheated on me. He thinks I only cheated on him one time...he doesn't know which time. It's like I keep trying to "one-up" him. How do I stop this self-destructive behavior? I need help fast. Please!

I don't usually do this sort of thing but here it is.... About 6 months ago I started seeing this girl, but I told her we would just date and have sex no relationship or ball and chain. We worked in the same store, but recently the company went out of business and we both started new jobs in different places, she is never available, it is hard to communicate despite her always telling me she misses me and enjoys the time we spend together. I keep bringing it up to her that this is a big issue for me, not even seeing her ect. the other day we were suppose to spend entire Sunday together when her job calls her in for a 7 hour shift, I was very understanding and patient up till then, I stormed out of her house and haven't talked to her since. I do miss her and have strong feelings for her, she feels the same toward me. But I am very confused and apprehensive on what to do next or should I even try to fix things? Is it worth it? What road should I take? I'm confused and hurting.,

When I was a young teenager, my ex (twelve years my senior) would not take no for an answer. I was having problems with my family and he offered to help me when it was not safe to go home. He began to use my family as justification to force me to stay with him. I suffered severe depression because he repulsed me yet made me feel that I owed him so much for allegedly saving me.

When I sought help to escape him, my first attorney made the comment to me “for God sake woman, the man loves you.” Basically mutual friends and church peers accused me of being a brat when I filed for a restraining order after he lost his license for drunk driving, and most explained his misfortune as I led him too it (he was out late drinking with friends one night and got caught driving drunk, when he called me a day later from jail he yelled that he called me all night and I was out cheating on him, but I was home with our children and my elderly mom and he never really called me).

What I think is interesting is that now men are picked up as offenders if they seek even consensual sex with a minor. Had this been the case years ago, I never would have married him and certainly wouldn’t have dated him, I tried to get away back then and no service could help me. I wonder how many men have done this when it was socially acceptable and now condemn those who do the same now that services are available to prevent this. When my ex asks if I watch the TV show “To Catch a Predictor” and states how disgusting those men are (often in front of our children to make a point), it burns me emotionally.
