How did you do it? You were the child always placed last, 'Allowed,' to sacrifice your wants and needs for you siblings, contribute your teenager paycheck to the family, your school accomplishments ignored, mother or father siblings because parent(s) at the bars. You had to stand up to the 'monsters,' parent(s) had for friends and brought home.
What procedures/coping devices/mental tricks did you use?
Has your own family suffered because it took you so long to 'practise being a parent?'

I feel real sorry for this kid, every time it's the hols she appears in our square (car park of block of flats) on her bike, alone, no friends or family I can see.

She speaks to the caretaker and I said hi to her yesterday (she's about 12, overweight, and quite obviously unhappy).

Poor little mite is (I think) dumped by busy parents on to granparents.

It's so sad.

Is there anything I could do, I'm a guy (married, no kids) to put a little sun into her life?

he found out that i had a huge crush on him, he let me down very gently and told me that he was already in a relationship. (I didn't know) That was when i realized i didn't need him to be my boyfriend to love him. I respect the hell out of his relationship and will never do anything to come between him and his girl. I went back to him later, and he said that he was afraid that i would no longer come to him for tutoring if i needed it and he really appreciated me getting up the guts to come see him. He is transferring to a different collage after this semester and i couldn't bare the thought of never seeing or hearing from him again, so i asked if we could get to know each other as friends. He said sure and is going to send me his email and we are going to keep in touch via email. What do you think?

I read some article about Spice girls reunion (do not care about them), and there were comments, and some man said "why do we need to see these old premenopausal bunch of women." And they are 32 to 34, right? And I am not even 35 anymore! If they are premenopausal, I am ancient, and must be shot or die by my own...

feel sad and angry about not having a girlfriend . Jimmy the Jerk and Andy the Abuser have girlfriends, so why shouldn't I ? Being single is the WORST ! The single life is cruel . I'm being wasted on the single life . I don't have what it takes to be single . The single life is a major disappointment . Being single is a curse .

We're getting married next week and we've put cheap disposable cameras into the childrens activity packs with a list of photos to get.

So far we've got; a picture of the best dancer, the biggest hat, parents dancing, the highest heels, groom without a drink, bride dancing, bride/groom eating wedding cake etc.

Anyone have any other suggestions for photos a child could take?

Okay, this guy who owns a store I often come to is really nice and everything, and he owns it with his wife. Then today I was talking to him and I asked where his wife was, and he says, at home, thank God, then I get to talk to cute girls like you. I mean, I'm not underage or anything, but still...It's creepy I think. I joked I was goign to tell his wife and he got upset. Lol.
I'm just wondering why do men have to be like that?

My brother is just 16 yo. He got kicked out of high school for making troubles (fighting with schoolmates, breaking school property, basically because of conduct etc.). We do not know what is wrong with him. We are trying to look for new school, also for family counseling. How can we understand him? How can we help him? What if we are not able to find a new school? We do not want him to bum around. Can he enroll from vocational school or culinary school, etc. even if he does not graduate from hs?

I desperately want some romance in my life! My man just doesn't seem to get the hint though. When I ask him to take a candle-lit bath with me he seems to think I'm strange. I think its beautiful. Sometimes I get the feeling that he can't be naked around me without it leading somewhere. Maybe he thinks its not manly to be romantic? How do I get it across to him that its ok to show that side of him?

Well i am 17 i go to college and i am redoing my first year their. I don't know anyone in college that would not be allowed out on a friday night, neither do i know anyone there who has to be ' allowed out ' by their parents. Most people i know are free to go out any night they want, my parents are always telling me i cant go out on college nights even though all my friends are out, and if i do manage to b allowed out 1 night i have to be back by half 9!!!!! And i get phone calls if im like 5 minutes late. I have been 'grounded' tonight and i think its very unfair on a friday night, and the reason for me being grounded is because i left them a note one weeknight saying i went out ad when i would be back, and apparantly this isnt good enough :S I hate not being given enough independence and it just makes me wanna get back at my parents and do bad things. Do you think my parents are to strict, and should i really still be getting grounded when im 17 and in college? its embarassing :( rik

I am suspicious that my girlfriend is talking to her "first" behind my back, and i do not at all feel comfortable with that. We both have been with only 3 people prior to our relationship. We have come to terms with each others past, but i don't like the idea of her talking to him. She tells me that they are not friends and it was a bad experience. Are my fellings justifiable or just jealous insecurity and should i bring this up and talk to her about it? I want us to be very open and honest with each other, but i feel like i am being selfish here.

My boyfriend of over one year lost his job a month ago. He is on unemployment and seems OK with it. I, on the other hand, am freaking out about it. We have fought when I've tried to offer suggestions on where he can apply or asked him questions about it and he says he doesn't need the criticism, just my support. I understand that but a woman needs SECURITY too. I am now trying to be supportive and keep my mouth shut but I still don't feel that he is putting forth the effort to find a job. He is supposed to move in with me in a few months but I can't let him if he doesn't have a job. I am getting resentful for paying for stuff most of the time when we are out. So - we're not going out anymore because I don't want to pay anymore - he should be picking up his fair share. At what point is it ok for me to say something again and then - what do I say to express my concerns?
