My brother is just 16 yo. He got kicked out of high school for making troubles (fighting with schoolmates, breaking school property, basically because of conduct etc.). We do not know what is wrong with him. We are trying to look for new school, also for family counseling. How can we understand him? How can we help him? What if we are not able to find a new school? We do not want him to bum around. Can he enroll from vocational school or culinary school, etc. even if he does not graduate from hs?

I had a friend just like this, only his problem went on like that for many years. His parents paid for alternate private schools that cost a fortune, but he would have none of it.

Finally, a patient relative took to hauling him around to different types of off-the-wall schools: one was a Harley-Davidson repair school, one was a violin school, one was a military training school. They basically bribed him to go along exploring, but he discovered his passion that way. He took to the Harley school and in a couple of years learned everything to know about motorcycle repair. Now his dad helped him open a shop and he is pretty successful.

The thing is that school doesn't always have everyone's path to success. Sometimes you've got to go out find what interests a person just by trying.

Good luck!

There is options there, tell your parents to call the school and ask them what their options are for schooling are. Most school will do what ever is necessary to help to get someone an education. It sounds like he is having a hard time learning, and it is easier to get kicked out then ask for help learning.

He might have some kind of chemical imbalance that causes him to act out, has he been seen by a medical doctor? I'd start there. As for schooling, there are a lot of home schooling options out there.

He can't really enroll in vocational or culinary school, but you can try to do home-schooling, whether your mom teaches him or he does a cyber school online.

There is not a lot you can do to help him.He has to want to learn and be educated for himself.Find out what his interests are and you might be able to steer him in the right career path.
