It really depends upon your definition of love.
Love is a very overused word today. Some people take it to mean the have "feelings" for someone else, they want to be with someone or they really like someone or something. That fact of the matter is that love is much more of a deep emotion than just feelings. What would you do for another person? Is there a limit? and why would you do it?
The truth about love is that for many, it is not understood. I tell you that I love my wife, but what does that mean? It means that I miss her when she is not near me, I am happy when she is happy, I will "sacrifice" what I may want or need if it brings her peace. I would sacrifice my life if it meant saving hers. She is my friend, my confidant, and my lover. We complete each other and compliment each other. My heart beats quicker in her presence and my lips smile when I see her unexpectedly. I easily see us together when we are old. I have forgotten my life before I met her. I respect her and value her. I listen to her and take her opinion to heart.
Can a person have this more than once in their life? Honestly, I do not know. I suppose it's possible, but for me having it just this once is more than I could ever ask for.

Your definition of love makes the difference.
Many people think love is that feeling when you first meet a person and your dating and always want to be around them.
They think because they can't keep there hands off each other and have sex they are in love. Or maybe they just have a strong desire for someone and want to be with them. this can be defined as love by some.
These being the most common definitions I guess a 1000+ times. In my opinion these are not love and really come down to being horney and new.
Love is not the high emotional states that starts a relationship. love is what develops after you get past the sex and hormones and you get to normal day-to-day life. People get addicted to the first part of a relationship and never move on. They even get married based on this stage of a relationship and when it dies down they move on and cheat.
Love is the unconditional and equal commitment that two people have together that can only be built over time and adversity.
Love grows when personal egos, politics, and pursuits are placed aside and the marriage of the two people comes first.
Love is the old man doing his wife's toe nails after 50 years off marriage because he know it makes her feel nice and she can't do them anymore.
love is my grandfather who visits his wife everyday for the last 4 years and she doesn't know who he is.
The best way I can describe it is commitment that requires self sacrifice and if given freely.

an unlimited amount of times. some people fall in love
all of the time, others, regardless of sex, get hurt in a
relationship very badly and do not fall in love again for a long time.
females tend tol be more emotional than males so i see the

You cannot predict....it could be once...twice....thrice....many times...
I know a person who fall in love with a man then married him...and within her marriage she fall in love with another again while he is away from her husband...so staying married would not mean you will not fall in love again...you still can/may fall in love even if you are attach. You see you will never know how many times one can fall in love...
