This woman just does not like me or approve of me, through no fault of my own. Let me explain. My hubby was married for 20 years and his ex was extremely close with his mother. They shopped together, called each other, etc. Well, after the divorce his mom felt like she has been fooled all those years because it turns out that her ex-daughter-in-law is a real piece of work and my hubby kept it concealed for all those years. So, he meets me and all through our courtship she disagreed with him being with me. Said it was too soon for him to move on, she doesn't like the fact that I brought two children under ten years of age into the relationship since his are grown, doesn't approve of the 15 year age difference, whatever! Well, even after being married and around these people for three years, there is a marked tension. They'll call here and talk to my hubby and not even ask about me, or when we do get together I will get the obligatory half-assed hug and kiss on the cheek.

My mil wanted so much for my son to call her grandmother. My son calls his granddaddy, granddaddy. I keep telling my mil that my son will eventually call her grandmother. She does not want to hear this. Now my son calls her grandmother. I feel like she rushed him into doing this. When he is in her room she quizzes him on calling her grandmother. My mil is very evil. She wants things to be her way and only her way!

My man's in the process of getting divorced, has been separated for many months already. Ex wife & kids live in another city, 1.5-2 hours away from where we live. The b!tchy ex wife says she doesn't care about him anymore YET she continously threatens & blackmails him w/the kids, saying he doesn't care about them cuz he doesn't visit them anymore. He does, but now he arrives there by noon, stays with them all day long and comes back in the evening (never sleeps over). This is every 2 weeks. She finally made him feel guilty enough - also using the fact that his 6 yr old son is having rage episodes because of the father's absence - and he wants to spend "a couple of days" w/the kids AT THEIR HOUSE (i.e. with the ***** there too). I'm totally against the idea and he has complained that I'm too intolerant and don't support him, that he can't turn his back on his children (which I've never asked for) etc... I've never been an obstacle for him to see his kids, he can see them (continued...)

My wife comes home last night and starts argueing with me about various things. Mostly about her feeling overwhelmed with the baby and that I dont help enough or give her enough attention. Heres the situation, she is a stay at home mom and she goes to school in the evenings. I work six days a week to pay for the bills which includes her school and her car. I take care of my son at night while she is in school. So to get to the point should I be mad or does she really have a point. My blood was boiling but i just bit my tongue and said nothing.

How long do you think it should be before you take the next stage in your relationship, eg buy a house, get engaged. I have been with my boyfriend for 3.5 years and we live together but in my house (he wasnt ready to buy one after 2.5 years together so he went and bought a property by himself). I now wonder if im in a relationship with a man who will never want to commit, but I just dont know if im being over sensetive to the situation?? Why are relationships soo confussing??

I have a female friend that my wife really dislikes one night after telling her i was a party that she was at. I came home to find my clothes outside of my door. Ok so she might have been a little jealous but here's the thing she asks me to cut it off with my friend and i tell her fine ill do it. In turn i ask her to cut off her male friend who openly let her know he is romantically interested in her. She throws herself on the floor hysterically crying saying he's just her friend and why cant she talk to him? I dont really care if she talks to this guy or not but hysterically crying and screaming? She sounded like somebody cut her pinky toe off for chrissake! Is that normal?Or does that mean that they have/had something going on? Awhile ago her best friend told me that i was the guy she wish she got with and that my wife was cheating on me. I chose not to believe her and stuck with my wife but now im looking back at both these situations and wondering ....did she? HELP!!!

We have 5 kids, ages: boy-16, girl-12, boy-4, boy-2, and girl-2 months. Any ideas of how to give the kids a magical Christmas on a Very small budget? We are outdoorsy, but the middle girl is verry girly. Any ideas for her? Im not really worried about the baby, but I cant afford a ton of gifts per child. How many would be sufficiant?? I appreciate the help.

I am in Love with them woman, she is in Love with me. we have been together a year and plan on getting married in the next year or so.
My parents know we live together and love her to death. she has a good but very different relationship than the one i have with my parents.- for the most part when it comes to this kind of thing they have always had a dont ask, dont tell kinda thing going, my parents and I have a very open and honest relationship... im not saying one is better than the other....
just given where we see and feel about the other is it better to just let it lay until we are married or to tell them truth.
i need examples, stories, reasons and honesty from you guys.
thanks

My grandmother recently died and now my nutty aunts have started waging a hate campaign against my mother because she told them off for being paraletically drunk after the funeral etc etc. They have sent her letters claiming my gran said all sorts re her while alive. Grant it my mother and gran didn't have the greatest relationship at times but they were both very frank with one another. She's received 2 letters now and much as she likes to say they don't hurt her, they do. Should I basically write to these cows or simply ignore them?? To be honest I'd love to give them a good hiding but that's not possible as they live in UK and US...any suggestions???

Do you think you could last?

2007-11-05 03:28:26 · 35 answers · asked by Anonymous in Singles & Dating

Why do you think we have to bullsh!t one another so much in life? I think we are less happier in life, because honesty is not valued anymore. It seems like if we aren't lying to one other, then we almost feel uncomfortable. For example:

If a guy asks a girl for her number: Why cant she just say, "I'm not interested" or "Thanks anyway", instead of lying about a boyfriend that doesn't exist or some other non truth?

How about when guys say that they want women to be more real and honest with them, then when she comes out and says, "You know what, I really want to make love to you tonight" or hits on him, he considers it too forward and loses interest because he doesn't have to chase her like a dog. Maybe it's intimidation. I'm not sure, but we apply all of these "Rules of the game" when we don't need to. Society and men have convinced women that we are tramps if we sleep with a man on the 1st date and we shouldn't call right away etc. Whereas, men can without judgment. Why the games???

There is a very beligerent, heavy drinking, relapsed alcoholic who is an in-law and scheduled to come with his wife (also an in-law) to our holiday dinner. For 20 years I put up with the my father-in-law being an alcoholic until he died and every get-together and meal of any kind was completely ruined.

Fast forward a few years and my sister-in-law marries an alcoholic who relapsed a two years ago with no intention of seeking help. Even before he drank he was beligerent, but now it's unbearable. He'll definitely ruin our holiday meal and will definitely bring his own liquor.

My husband thinks I'm making a big deal out of this (they're children of alcoholics), but the entire holiday get-together will indeed be ruined. He'll probably arrive drunk as well. His actions are literally nauseating (and I'm no prude).

The rest of the family drinks very reasonably and will want to drink wine etc. My "birth family" is dead so I want to look forward to a nice Christmas. What can I do?

I will be 26 in 5 months, and I am still single. My clock is ticking. If I don't end up in a long term relationship/marriage soon there won't be any point in trying any more because I'll be too old.

My history of relationships with women is depressing:

1st girl - reported me for "harassment" coz I told her I liked her
2nd girl - said she "didn't think I was a very good friend"
3rd girl - said she just wanted to be friends. Fair enough
4th girl - tried to string me along
5fth girl - never replied to any of my texts - that really hurt!
6th girl - lived 3,500 miles away we were chalk & cheese anyway
7th girl - Asked me out, went out 4 times, and then when I asked her out again said "I just want to be friends and you were never meant to get any other impression."
8th girl - I met her online. Went out 3 times, and I really fell for her. She told me "told me "she didn't think she was going to meet me anymore, that I was a good guy but she didn't see us together".

I'm 19 years old, and a guy. I have been raised by wonderful parents, except it seems the older I get, the worse it is everywhere! My parents treat me like a baby, and it is begining to affect my relationship with my girlfriend (in a way), her father, my girlfriend, and myself all feel as if my parents (mother especially) treats me like a baby! I was not allowed to get my permit till I was 16, then I didn't get my lisence till I was 19. I have just been allowed on the highway (because it was "too dangerous"). They said in the past they were afraid of me being an impulse driver, and I'm not at all! The worst thing is, they won't let me get a cell phone, a student loan, or even move out! It seems like their restrictions are getting tighter, and it hinders my ability to move on in life! And I started to believe them, they said not to get a student loan because debt! But if I don't I can't really go to college! And I can't buy a car without my parent's approval!

Heres the problem what should I do???
When my husband and I met he was activated by the USMC for a year. I then spent a lot of time with his family. Everything was cool typical family issues ya know. Well my brother in law is crazy, this I know now not then. Anyways he always acts up and gets into truoble(drugs, jail, dui, etc.) Well my mother in law does nothing about it. he pretty much rules the house. Well I just had our third child and I often go visit with the children by myself because my husband is always working. The last time I was doen there my sister in law and my brother in law got into a fight, yelling and screaming over something stupid. Well my sister in law had my youngest in her arms while she was yelling and fighting with my brother in law. Anyways, I got up and left and I told my mother in law , if they get out of hand just take the baby please. She agreed and the fight continued for like 4 hours. Well , I left the next morning cause it was so crazy. Now we have to

I have been fortunate, because I have never had a family member die in my life, but this morning, I was told that my uncle passed away. He had been a heavy drinker at some points in his life and it was his liver. He was in his early 50's, and so is my mom. He is the 2nd oldest of 9 siblings in my mom's family. Our family was always very close. We had so much fun and I love all my aunties and uncles very much. I am finding this hard to deal with. I am sad, for his wife and for the rest of my family who I know will miss him. And I will miss him, no family event will be the same. But I also feel angry. I can not believe that he died so fast. No one got a chance to say goodbye. I feel angry with god for taking him, and for making it a reality that my mom will also eventually pass away. And he hid the fact that he was sick in bed for 8 weeks prior, so no one got a chance to be with him. I am just mad, and I feel terrible for that. I can't deal with this very well. I hate this.

My fiancee just got hit with 17,000 in back child support for a child he wasn't aware of until just recently when the papers were filed. It's his kid, and we are going to file for visitation, but does anyone know how we can get help paying this down. We are a minimum wage family and we have 5 other kids between us. We just don't have that kind of money. Any help please. Thank You

Then the next week I went in and she ignored me...worse still she avoided serving me.
Why bother to take my number? She could have just said no.
