She won't even let me go! He's been one of my good friends for a long time & is such a nice guy. We're just friends, nothing more, & we thought we could just go to homecoming together as friends. I told my mom this, & she was fine with it. Then when I mentioned that he's African American she said I couldn't even go to Homecoming, & that I hurt her pride, & that I make her sick, & she just kept yelling at me saying how dissappointed she is! She's being soooo racist! I don't know what to do, she's not even letting me go to homecoming because I want to go with a black boy, who is very nice & a gentlemen. I don't understand this I feel horrible!

At the moment I am 18 years old and going to college to becomed an English teacher. My boyfriend (22) is also going to college but to become a history teacher. We have been together for about a year now. I want to get married just not right now, but there is a problem: I have to have a child at 24. My mother had me at 24, her mother had her at 24, and so on and so forth as far back as we can remember. But when, between now and 24 , would be the time to get married. I know I don't have to have a child at 24. I shouldnt be rushed, but I want to keep the family tradition.

So I went to go visit a friend today. I haven't seen him in months so it was a little awkward. Anyway, I walked into his house and his little brother (who was always such a rude little turd) said to me "You got fat!" really loud and it made my friend laugh. I got so embarassed and I changed the subject right away.

The whole time I was there I kept thinking about his brother saying "You got fat!" over & over again. It's brought my confidence so low and I've just been bummed through out the day.

Yeah I may have gained a few pounds but just the fact that I was put on blast by a little boy who's about 7 years old really affected me.

Should I let this get to me and take what he said seriously or be like F*** it?

I got engaged about months ago but now I find out that my fiance was in love with some one , according to the person who told me about this it was her first love! I wanted to be straight forward to ma fiance and asked her but still she insists she never been in love with some one else. I feel kinda upset why she is not telling me the truth,either da person who told me about her is wrong or may be my fiance is not telling me the truth whether If she is or was in love wit that person. she says she loves me but i feel like i dont believer her. Wen im askin her again and again some times she cries and it makes me feel even worse, I remember wen she listened to love songs, she goes quiet... and then i assume she is thinkin of her x lover.. it sucks.. do u people think she is lying to me? what should i do? I just cant bear it! becoz i know she wont forget him as he was assumbly her first love! i hate my self... even i tried to sucide to get ride of dis troubled world!

I'm starting to think that this is just another one of those self-consoling terms. You know. The shy guy, who has a hard time with women, tells himself that girls just like the bad boy. I'm starting to think that the bad boy is just someone who has enough guts to talk to girls, and nothing more. Men make so many excuses, such as saying that women go after money, stability, success, etc., rather than saying that women just like what they like, and that's it. I think a woman could even like a shy guy. If she is bold, she may approach him, but 9 times out of 10, that isn't going to happen. So, the shy guy comes up with a lot of these excuses to relieve himself from the pressure and lack of manly feeling that comes with letting all of his opportunities pass him by. But it really is hard to get over.

A so-called female friend of mine was telling me that she was engaged to be married and I said my congrats to her and she went on to say, "oh I'm the one getting married and you're still single..." I felt that was a very snarky, condescending comment which gave me the impression that she was better than me because she's in a relationship and I'm not. I looked at her with an appalled look on my face, and she said that she didn't mean it like that. Well how else was she supposed to mean it? In the future, if someone I know said something similar, how could I respond back? What snarky responses could I use? I would really like to shut people like that up with some zingers.

Both of my birth parents were abusive to me, as was my step-mother. Since I have married(and had 2 children) they and my two sisters have become absolutely brutal. To give an example: A few months ago I wrote a beautiful poem about my step-mother and I gave it to her. Then she gave it to her mother with the question "Do you think she actually wrote this??" Her mother, whom I have met twice in my life, replied with "yes, I do think she wrote it but don't be taken it by it because this is probably just another of her games". When I found out about that I just let myself blow. All my life I have held in my feelings. My dad used to tell us that we "didn't have the RIGHT to be mad". I told them all that "I am grown now. And by god I am MAD. You can all go to hell. Stay out of my life and I shall not trespass into yours ever again"

Well I just transfered to a new school this year and have been going for about a month now. Theres this shy girl in 3 of my classes that I am obsessed with. We dont really speak shes really shy. I stare at her a lot and smile and when she sees me she looks away quick(a sign?) I also asked her for help on some classwork once and she seemed to come out of her shell a little. Sorry this is a long one.My mother-in-law passed away 4 years ago. My father-in-law started dating 2 weeks later. He dated several women who really did not care about having his children or grandchild in her life. He did meet one lady about 5 months later. No one had a good feeling about this woman. Come to find out I dated her son when I was a teenager and am still good friends with him and his wife. (They helped take care of my daughter when I was in the hospital for a while before my mohter-in-law passed away). My husband and his sister have not ever gotten along with her. She has changed my father-in-law. They were married a year ago. I never know what to call her because she will never be my mother-in-law. I always say she is the woman my father-in-law married. ok I met this girl in my music class she is drop dead amazing, i already am in a crush with her, i facebooked her and asked her if she wanted to go to this party with me so i picked her up, and we talked most of the time, and i ended up making out with her. she pushed me away and told me she had a b/f. later than night she ended up kissing me. and when i dropped her off she kissed me.i asked her to go to the movies, she sais ok. then she sais she doesnt think she can go. so i asked her and she sais she wants to be just friends. I can tell she likes me, but shes been dating this kid for 2 months. she told me to call her after class but i didnt till after, I wrote her a poem, and she met me for coffee, i gave her the poem then we went to the mall. after i didnt kiss her when i dropped her off, and texted her asking her if she liked the poem. and she said " I cant hangout with you anymore". and i said tell me your feelings and she said " I like my b/f alot and i dont like you that way".

My 11-year-old has read her way through thousands of pages of the Harry Potter series and is half way through the sixth book. My ex-husband's fiance doesn't want the books in her home. She has also been praying that my daugher won't grow up to be "bad". My daugher was in tears tonight asking me if she is a bad person. I told my ex-husband we agreed long before this woman came into the picture how we were raising our kids and that I would not allow her to butt in. I'm so furious that she would plant this seed in my child's brain that there is something bad in her! He has asked me to let him handle it. He says he's on this fence with this issue and not sure what he believes anymore. Oh. He is also not sure she should be able to trick or treat anymore because that is evil, too! Should I let him handle it or talk to this woman?

1month ago my 5 year on and off relationship when my ex cheated on me.. After the many times he's broke up with me, I am now convinced, it's not worth it. although i was kinda stupid to held on to it sooo long.

last week, this guy a schoolmate from highschool, messaged me in my myspace.. that i look familiar and we used to go to the same church.. then exchanged yahoo IDs and from then on we chat almost everynight until early morning..

I dont know if he knows, but meeting him means a lot to me.. He works with a nonprofit christian org for the street kids and he asked me to help out in the music program cause i play the piano.. Meeting him, has made it easy for me to let go of the past.. because in just a week of meeting him.. I felt he's soo much better... I dont expect anything with what we have.. But it sure has helped me heal fast..

But do you think he likes me? or is he just being nice?

So, my ex and I broke up we just kinda went through a rough patch and fought about nothing, befor I knew it he was seeing someone else.
All his friends tell me he's an idiot and that anyone is lucky to have a girl like me, but I just feel like sometimes I wanna run up to him and kiss him, he dumped his new girlfriend after a week all his friends say it's cause he still likes me, but others say he never liked me, I'm still in school and were in the same school so I see him like 10 times a day so it's kinda hard. I need your help to know what to do cause I really have no clue.

I went to her house for her Bitrthday We made out and everything was great. I thought it went well anyway because she was crazy about me and I was about her. The next morning she calls up and says shes dumping me. She does the classic "I just want to be friends", "your a really nice guy", does it nice sweet and simple and hangs up. Soon after she completely changes her facebook status and picture.

I am just so amazed at how fast this happened. Out of nowhere and right after her birthday!! She used to call me every night and now she wont pick up the phone. She told me that her reason was that I was 18 and she was 16. The night before she was saying how happy she was with me and it never bothered her before. I feel angry, confused and completely tossed to the side with no remorse. I cant stop feeling angry and sad...could you please give me some advice.
