Both of my birth parents were abusive to me, as was my step-mother. Since I have married(and had 2 children) they and my two sisters have become absolutely brutal. To give an example: A few months ago I wrote a beautiful poem about my step-mother and I gave it to her. Then she gave it to her mother with the question "Do you think she actually wrote this??" Her mother, whom I have met twice in my life, replied with "yes, I do think she wrote it but don't be taken it by it because this is probably just another of her games". When I found out about that I just let myself blow. All my life I have held in my feelings. My dad used to tell us that we "didn't have the RIGHT to be mad". I told them all that "I am grown now. And by god I am MAD. You can all go to hell. Stay out of my life and I shall not trespass into yours ever again"

You don't need them in your life or your kids' lives. Don't feel bad for disowning them. You did the right thing, and stay away from them. God bless.

WOW, rough life, I'm truly sorry. Iwas a single dad w/2 kids. Raised my kids to show respect to those who show it to you!! But, also taught them not to be rude!! And they always were polite, but rite to the point, and at times other people would say things, "why do oet your kids say things like that". and I would explain the whole scene to them, they've just responded musch politer than the other person. They're grown now, doing great, still using the same tackets in verbal moments!! Dump them if you want to,but try a differnt approch 1st!!

Yes from the way you describe it. Who needs them in your life? You have the right not to be treated like this.

You were absolutely right. You don't want your children around all that negativity.
