I'm starting to think that this is just another one of those self-consoling terms. You know. The shy guy, who has a hard time with women, tells himself that girls just like the bad boy. I'm starting to think that the bad boy is just someone who has enough guts to talk to girls, and nothing more. Men make so many excuses, such as saying that women go after money, stability, success, etc., rather than saying that women just like what they like, and that's it. I think a woman could even like a shy guy. If she is bold, she may approach him, but 9 times out of 10, that isn't going to happen. So, the shy guy comes up with a lot of these excuses to relieve himself from the pressure and lack of manly feeling that comes with letting all of his opportunities pass him by. But it really is hard to get over.

Good points. Personally, I like shy guys.. The only problem is that I'm usually too shy to make the first move-and they usually are too. There's also the fact that it can be hard to keep a good conversation going if they don't open up.

Just be yourself. If a girl doesn't like you for who you are she has issues.
