My ex girlfriend & I had a child together, and we currently have shared custody. She has primary placement now.
As an unmarried, not divorced parent, the courts very much seem to favor the mother. What are my rights?

My ex wants to take my child out-of-state, and I am 100% against this as she does not show a commitment to our visitation agreement while in-state.
My daughter is the most important thing in my life.
Her mother has not shown this same order of priorities.
My daughter is with her grandmother the majority of the time. Her mother doesn't even live in the city where our daughter goes to school, she goes in her grandmother's school district because it is more convenient for Mom.

All in all, however, this is not about what is convenient for me, or the mother. It is about what's best for my child.
If she were to be deprived of her relationship with her father, I know she would suffer immensely on many levels.
How do I prevent this from happening?
Is there hope?

Im in my in my mid 20's with two little kids. My sister is begining her 30's with an 8yr old and 14yr old. Now that my kids are growing and learning I try to avoid my sisters kids. Is this bad of me? My sister and I lived a few yrs in different state so now that we are living near each other again its great but I dont like the way her kids are. Her younger one says bad words - not cursing but bad for my older kid (4) to say. Just negitive mean words. So I spend time yelling at my kid for repeating. Her son gets introuble but of course they dont stick to it and he doesnt listen. Her 14yr old, she just rude and unpleasant to be around....And yet again my sister knows this but seems to take the easy way out and not pay attention to it...She has tried grounding and talking to her but it does nothing. Id like to hang out with family more but not at the cost of my kids learning bad behavior. Im sure they will pick it up at school also but Ill have to adress that when that happens.

I'm not a super-sensitive, over emmotional person, but I'm kind of having a tough time. I still have very strong feelings an ex-girlfriend and we went out together on Saturday night. The problem is that she is now in another very serious relationship and I realize in my mind that it couldn't work out. Still, everything inside me is telling me different. Its like a battle between my mind and feelings. I'm not a p*ssy or anything, but have a tough time accepting reality on reality's terms.

This is the situation:

1. I have been single for two months now and the ex is obsessed with getting me back, he even proposed.

2. I dated a guy 4 years ago, who left me high and dry when he went overseas. He is constantly making me feel bad about myself and at the same time telling me he loves me.

3. I am in love with the person referred to in point 2's best friend and I'm almost sure he feels the same. All these situations are very difficult and are putting strain on the one relationship I wish to build. I am afraid that he might lose interest.

What do I do in each instance and how do I prove that I'm worth the wait?

OK, so on my previous profile, I mentioned a question about what to do about my mom's drinking. I told someone she knows, he told her about my concern and told her I said she was drunk driving. I think she was drunk driving a couple of times. I snitched on her right before we were going on vacation, but she was so angry at me she isn't talking to me ( we did a few times over the phone though, all leading into fights ) and she didn't let me go on vacation with her, my sister, and her friend. My mom claims she wasn't drunk driving, and says she deserves an apology. Does she? Before my parents got a divorce, she drank a lot, and it got so bad she almost stabbed my dad. And she's more of the angry drunk. After the divorce, she was sober but I discovered in May she was drinking again. There have been a lot of fights before I snitched. Should I have told on her? Should she drink? Was she fair not to bring me on vacation? Thanks!

I met him at college and I have been in love with him ever since and he knows how I feel as I have told him. The problems is that he doesnt want to get into a relationship as he doesnt like the fact of being teid down to one person. I am disabled also and he doesnt mind that but the thing is I want to be with him every time I hear from him. I have never loved anyone as much in my whole life and feel as if my heart is being torn out off my chest when I cant be with him. I dont know what to do?

My grandmother raised me and she just passed. My heart is broke and I was planning my wedding for September 6, 2008 a day before her birthday. I'm so confused I wanted to show her that I could plan a nice event and she was so excited about the wedding. Now I just feel like canceling plans and going to the justice of peace!?! What should I do? Should I still have have the wedding I wanted and make it like a celebration of life for my grandmother?!? By having a slide show of her wedding playing durning the reception? I'm so confused!

We got married 3 years ago, an then eventually we receive a bless from God , now hes 2 years old hes evetyhing for me, since I moved to another city to get a better job she had to separated from her family which bothered her to much, we daily fight for stupid things but she and I started this kind of fights before moving on to this job, she and I dont share love anymore, it appears that it is only the routine, but usually she complaints about everything I do, besides all this things I think that she is no longer dedicated to try to look beautiful, in fact I believe that phisically she doesnt attract me anymore,

With all this situations, If I separated from her she will take our son with her and moved to her family house, just to thing about it make to sad because I know I will miss my son to much, maybe not her, but my son is my entire life for me, I love him more than my own life,

Please if there are fathers that were in the same situation please advise me what to do?

Hubby & I have been through alot-my insecurity, his porn addiction, drug addiction and basic financial irrespononsiblty(my opinion-I had great credit, savings.primary wage earner when this all started). I think he is done with drugs, but how can I know ?He lies=missed his daughters birthday on 7/1/07. I cheated once, after he disappeared for the 20th timebut have kept the guy as a long distance friend. I have 3 kids and honestly, its easier to have hubby around when he's "good".I just can't trust him-we're still a financial mess and that really bothers me.Hubby has worked steadily for the past 11/2 yrs(longest ever}, and has given me money since moving out 6/1/07- $350. I otherwise support the kids-He'll watch the kids maybe 1x a week when I work- works night so it is tough(but he's able to go golfing with his friend 2x a week), he will pick them up to take to practices 2 -3 time/week. I wanted counseling set up by him, him to pay back taxes($6000),my family($15,000!!)-drug debt & he hasn't

Was out with him yesterday and we had a fab day and I got caught up in the moment of being so in love with him and when I went home I txt him and asked him 2 marry me. He said yes and kept asking me was I serious and he was so happy etc, however my prob is I was drunk and didnt mean to ask him I want him to ask me I know it sounds old fashioned but thats the way I want it. I told him this morning that I was drunk when I said it and was so embarrassed. He replied by saying he would marry me today or tomorrow if he could. How do I get out of this one but get him to ask me instead and I not feel so embarrassed. What makes it worse is he went and told his aunt and she is delighted for us.

When I leave, do I have to pay all the bills as I did before? My wife only works part-time and refuses to do any more, but is happy to see me work 15 hours a day and ask why I don't get paid more! I desperately want to support my kids, but don't want her living a care-free lifestyle on the back of any money I'd have to give to them. They are all under 18. Is there anywhere I get good advice on this?

I have been dating my partner for over 3 months and see each other everyday and truly want to be with each other. ...now we do (according to her, at least i know how i feel and really do want to be with her) are on the same wavelength. A buddy of mine is on a dating website and saw her picture on there, but it said she WAS NOT ACTIVE for some time. She was on her email this weekend and i was there and i saw that she had several emails from the dating website and they were opened (you can tell because they are no longer in bold in your email)...Now i WILL NOT and HAVE NOT pry into her email, but she told me about a month that she tried emailing the websites to cancel her membership and so far nothing has happened. Now i know for a fact you can delete your membership directly FROM the website itself. Is her response a ploy to keep her options open? Should i let her know it bothers me? i should trust her right? but shouldn't she cancel them if she truly wants to be with me???

Hi! All of these guests are people from my office - I've been back at work from my honeymoon for over a week and haven't even received a "congrats" or even just a card congratulating us. Plus, some of them keep going on about how great the food was - the food I paid $78 per guest for! I am very frustrated, but afraid I'm sounding too whiny about this. Do I have a right to be angry about this? I know I can't say anything but I can't force myself to be nice to these people either. Thanks!

I've been single for a while now and have taken a few girls back to my house and then realized that 'this girl is just not doing it for me' after a bit of one on one time and sex with her just doesn't interest me anymore. why do they get so offended when i end up turning them down? i've never been turned down, i hear about it alot, so i guess i just don't understand why???

I live in ohio there is a person I know who has children and has been married for 8 yrs., however she now wants a divorce and he has somehow obtained temporary emergency custody of thier two boys. This in itself is odd because what I have read states that the other parent in question somehow poses a eminent threat to the children, which is by no means the case. The other part to my question is this although they were married eventually, he is 6 to 7 yrs older than her and their first sexual intercourse happened when she was 15 and he was 21. From the research I have done on my own the details are sketchy I read that the statute is 20 yrs. but in general you have to claim within 6 is this true? Also because they were eventually married would this cause them not to seek prosecution for this? Thank you in advance for any clarification you can provide.
