We are newlyweds, less than year, but have been together for almost 9 years. He has had a problem with alcohol since I have known him and has been violent, crtical and verbally abusive for all this time. There are times I am afraid because I don't know what he is capable of and I never know when an outbreak will occur. He drinks heavily at least 4 night, maybe 6 a week. He is a functioning alcholic in terms of sociey, but I feel like I have just woke up. My father is an alcolohic and I married my dad. When he is sober he can SO sweet or he can be mean. I never know what I am going to get. He says he wants to change and I asked him flat out. If I asked you to pick alcohol or me, what would you choose? He told me he didn't know, that he really can't give up drinking. He refuses counseling or AA because he really doesn't want to stop. I don't want to be unhappy anymore or scared, but I feel like if I leave him my life will be a wreck! We have a house and a history. What should I do?

Husband recently left and says he wants a divorce. He is staying with friends now. We have been to see a paralegal to see what steps to take to get divorced. But sometimes he acts like he is really unsure of his desion. He came over to the house to talk and started crying when he looked at out wedding pictures. Then I gave him my ring back and he acted hurt that I did. Then he asked me if I wanted it back a few days later. I said okay and he took it to have it cleaned before he brought it back. I really don't know if his is having some kind of midlife crisis and is confused or just doesn't know what he wants.

I live five hours from my ex. We break up more then Ike and Tina Turner or Sonny and Cher ever did. She used me for so much cash and whatever else that gold digger could get out of me and why? Because I loved her and couldn't see it but now I do. I want revenge. How do I get it?

Here's the deal.. I met a man but he didn't want to talk because he was in a relationship with his kids mother. The next time I seen him he explain that they were not together. From that point on he was always around me coming over to my house sleeping over. We were getting real close. He said that I was perfect, he loved everything about me and I felt the same way. Then all of a sudden he becomes very distant and he doesn't talk to me as much. He claims his ex is still he at his crib and she has nowhere to go so he is working on that and he's father is dying. But why does he have to distance himself from me. I got him a cell so he can talk to me but he doesn't call like I thought he would. He doesn't come over at all. I am just confussed and I need some advise.

He lies to me about things that he knows will upset me. He started chewing tobacco and I found out from a friend. He said he quit, but I found out otherwise. He lies about buying it, he lies about buying porn. I have no clue how much more he lies about. I have to catch him and figure the lies out for myself. He never sets me down and tells me he's lapsed and bought tobacco, or he's lapsed and bought porn (which he was addicted to for about a year) He doesn't confess when confronted about these things. I have to drag it out of him. One time it took me 8 months to drag a lie out of him. He lied to me for those 8 months looking me straight in the eyes! He always lies and looks me straight in the eyes. Who knows what else he's lied/lying about?? He didn't do this stuff until about 3 years ago. We've been together 8 years. I can't stand this. I don't trust him anymore. Should I quit? We have a 16 month old boy. I never lie to him If I have done something I think would upset him, I tell him.

We didn't speak anymore after her boyfriend told her some lies about me. Before braking any contact she sent me a very nasty email, insulting me in every way possible (her bf told her that he asked me if i wanna have a one night stand with him and that i said yes - wich i didnt). Now she acts as if we have always been friends and nothing ever went wrong, but after meeting her once i realised what person she is, and that i don't want to be a friend of her's anymore, and that i was a fool by sharing my confessions with her. I really can't believe i used to think of her as my best friend. I don't know what i should do. Any advice?

was with this guy for 8 months and it was a very serious relationship. We met at wotk and only knew eachother as workers and there was that "spark". After only 4 months knowing eachother we decided to go out, and we werent friends to begin with. Hes very sensitive and thoughtful(I know u girls will say "NO hes a jerk" just shut up, cuz theres different situations)and it was love at first sight. We werent even friends to begin with and we got attached very quickly. I heard he ahd a very bad past and his friends and him kept telling me I was the only chick who treated him right(ther others were verbal abuse and hes been hurt so bad alot)then he breaks up with me, saying hes "confused, "not ready" "needs time to think" its you its not me" and what confused me the most is when he said "i cant show feelings"...did he just get tired of me??? and now he has a rebound girl like whats going on???? he was even calling me more after we broke up...plz i want to clear all this confusion!!

would you rather have no friends or a bunch of people who called themselves your friends but made fun of you behind your back, and used you to get money, etc.? i mean, if you are in school its good to have people to back you up and at least you have SOME people to hang out with...

but, i mean, its still pretty...annoying to not have REAL friends.

What do you think??? which would you rather have?

Read between the lines. He was interested, but it was that time of the month so I couldn't or didn't want to. anyway, he said he was really in the mood that and that loved me enough to see "beyond" that. I was like ewwww, no way. anyway, I told my friend and she said there was nothing w/that. she does it all the time. I can't imagine the mess and feeling of it all. how many of you don't care about that?

I have this friend, that lies about/to me alot, acts stupid in public, just to be cool, and everyone thinks he's so funny, sometimes I do stuff with him that's stupid, but not very often, and people always think it's only funny when he does it, and he is always telling people lies about me, and blaming me for stuff, he's 2 years younger then me, but should I be friends with him? or not, or is that just how kids are... his age.. Immature like that.. I just sometimes tell him to go home while he's at my house, and I don't want to tell everyone in my house everything he does, because that's like ratting him out, so they always take his side, and assume I told him to leave for no reason.. any advice on what I should do with this?

We have a 13-year old daughter. She started discovering boys about 8 months ago. She has become very attached to a boy from school who I will call "John" We later discovered "John" has been sending our daughter e-mails about wanting sex.

Back in June we told our daughter she is not permitted to have a boyfriend, and we do not want her to see or communicate with "John." She has been in secret contact with him over the internet, and "John" has continued to to talk and ask her about sex.

Now, school has started and we are worried that our daughter and "John" will try to see each other.

We have tried to talk to John's parents. They could not give a crap what their son does. We tried to talk to them in a nice manner only to be told to "get lost."

I was hoping since my daughter is 13, that she would forget about this creep, but it seems that is not working. While we can monitor her activites at home, does anyone have any suggestions to help keep them away from each at school?

He wants me to ********. I am not comfortable doing this but have done it anway because I wanted to please him. Although I think this is against my beliefs. I am a devout Catholic and don't know if this is against my religion. I am kinda innocent when it comes to these things. My question now is, what should I do? Sex is a sacred thing that a married couple share, so I am not sure if this is right.

I realize it would depend on what the thing was... I was at a kid birthday party and my neighbor put tape over someone elses kid's mouth. He was noisy, but it was a party and five year old boys are not known for being quiet. I was horrified, but I think the kid's dad saw and he did not react.

The neighbor who put the tape is known to be aggressive and have a bad temper. His wife is passive aggressive. I asked a question last week about a situation with her (see link below).

We are moving in 9 months, so I just keep telling myself to avoid and ignore them. They live right next to us and our neighborhood does a lot of family stuff as groups, so I cannot completely avoid them. I felt in my heart I wanted to say something about the tape, but since it was not violent and the boy's dad did not react, I thought I should mind my own business. What do you all think?

In my world, you get married once. If your marriage ends through death, divorce or annulment, you get a do-over. Ceremonial services are a crock.

If you eloped, a subsequent church "wedding" is not a wedding. It's a party in a church. If you're churchgoin' folk, you should believe God was watching the courthouse when you got hitched.

If you had a civil ceremony, same thing. The church do-over is a party in church. If it was that important to wed in a church, you should have done so.

If you can't decide whether to have the wedding in State A or State B because you and your spouse to be don't know who to burden with travel...and you split the difference with a second "wedding" in State B, see above.

How many times can you have this solemn occasion? Is this just a big chance for Bridezilla to get her Queen for a Day groove on and rack up some (or more) presents, even though she jumped the gun and already married Prince Charming?
