I recently re-connected with a guy I was friends with like 20 years ago via the internet. We were close friends in our teens and have kept in touch sporadically over the years. We have both felt some romantic interest in the past, however the timing was always wrong...either he was with someone or I was, etc. so nothing ever moved beyond friendship.

I have been divorced for three years and he just barely got divorced this month. We have talked about perhaps going beyond friendship this time, but his divorce is so fresh that he has not breached the topic of dating again to his ex-wife.

My question: Do you really need to let your ex-spouse know you're going to start dating again once you are divorced???

They do share custody of a child, but we've agreed that I wouldn't even meet the child until such time as we knew the relationship was going to be serious.

Am I wrong here? Does this seem odd? How long should I give him to tell his wife he wants to date someone?

Guys, I've always thought myself to be a pretty hard-working, totally independant woman who's confident in my looks and abilities. I've recently gotten engaged and have gladly given up a portion of the lead role to my soon-to-be husband. And though I would have NEVER considered myself to be "insecure" I overheard him saying that about me to his buddy, not in a "talk about me" kind of way, but in a "statement" kind of way. I was flabergasted! Admitedly there was a situation with is ex that prompted me to feel insecure - to make it short they have children together but I KNOW she was putting the moves on him. Anyway, what I want to know is how can I now disassociate myself from this horrible title of "insecure" without be too abrupt as to further damage the relationship? How can a woman keep her own seperate life but still be "marriage" material in your eyes? It seems we women are damned if we are too independant and damned if we are too needy. What is the middle ground?

I am not married but I would like to know your satisfactions/dissatisfactions with marriage regarding age, length, sexlife, kids, careers, money issues.... and in all, if you are happy with the decision you have made.

I am a 47 year old mtoher and I have a daugther who is 18. She is 18 years old and I feel terrible for what I've put her through. Ever since she was in 4th grade she has been harrassed so badly. It got so bad to the point where I myself would have to come to her school and bring her no field trips because students refused to let her be in there groups. I thought ti would end for her after 4th grade but it didnt'. She would run away constantly come home cryimg every single day. It hurt me. She had begged me to move but my husband and I chose to stay. We thought it would get better! It has been hell for my daughter for the past 8 years of her life. Her friends have been treating her TERRIBLE latley. Shes' not going to her prom because of her one best friend. I've been reading what she has been writing on here. She tells me everything which is good! She showed me what some people at work were saying about her the mean things. It brought me to taers. No mother likes to hear (adding more)

My husband and I have recently seperated and when I called to drop him from my insurance they said I have to have documentation of a legal seperation. When I went to the courthouse to ask what I needed to do, of course they told me they could not give out legal information and to contact an attorney. If I am going to have to pay an attorney to get a seperation I might as well just go ahead and get a divorce. I know that you can file for a divorce on your own for $100.00 but I am not sure how to get the forms and what to do afterwards.

There is this teacher at my school and she is attractive. She was leaving the math lab today, and me and a guy sitting next to me were watching her leave. She kind of stopped and looked back. The look on her face was saying "Quit looking at me, creep."

I couldn't tell if she was looking at me or him or whatever, but the look on her face was stunning. I don't stalk anyone, especially her, but her reaction was like she was saying that I gawk at her or something.

I mean she hasn't said anything, but it's pissed me off to the point where I won't do it again.

What do you think?

My partner and I had a large fight, in which I believe he was trying to push me away/use me as a scapegoat/use me as a place to push all his frustrations on me. I've said everything I've needed to say, but that was, 3 days ago, and he's just left me hanging, not saying anything at all back. My friend keeps telling me to wait for him to come talk to me, but is that really the right thing to do? I really do love him, but he really did cross the line this time, even if it was out of character for him.

In high school there were girls who picked on me because I was fat, nerdy with glasses. But now after high school I am the man. I have the biggest muscles and the baddest urban wear. When I came home from college some of those girls who picked one me tried to get with me and I rejected them and laughed in their face. Is that great revenge?

My boyfriend and I were living together for 7 months. I wrote him and e-mail the other day asking him what it is that he wants (i.e. to be friends, or remain boyfriend/girlfriend), and he told me to my face that he still wanted us to be together. Then two days later, he says that we are still best friends but not together. I was in a five year relationship prior to him (whom I have a beautiful 2 1/2 yr. old daughter from), but after investing so much into my ex and the current boyfriend, I just can't do it anymore. My current boyfriend has always accepted my little girl, but the issure is I feel like he just wants to be a bachelor forever.

OK so he made a mistake, doesn't everyone. Isn't walking away the easy way out. I mean come on: "for better or worse" isn't that what the vows say. So why do I feel like I am the only one out there who thinks I am making the right choice and working things out with my husband?

She is 36, divorced, 2 kids, a christian. He is single, 25 & a muslim. They are both of different races. She is Asian. They love each other madly, He wants to commit, but he is a little gun shy because he revolves around a conservative society and they definitely will disapprove. Should they go for it or just forget about each other and stay friends?

A female friend of mine feels extremely guilty for something she has done a little over two years ago. She wants to tell her husband but it could mean the end of their ten year happy marriage. It has nothing to do with infidelity, but it is definitely something I consider serious. Should I counsel her to keep this information to herself, or tell her to speak out, even if it means to the end of her marital bliss?

I am still a virgin but I think about sex a lot. Sometimes i feel that if a guy came up to me and was even slightly forceful with me that I would gladly jump in bed with him. Masturbation only goes so far...
