I dont know how i got it but another account on my computer has a virus or something the desktop say "your privacy is in danger" and it has a big poison symbol. All the icons are highlighted and instead of an arrow pointer there is a hand. There are 3 desktop shortcuts to virus protection programs that I cant get rid of and I need to know what to do. Ive ran spybot and it said it got rid of something like that but it didnt. and avg doesnt seem to be detecting it. Help please.

For YEARS my ex husband has used my user ID to copy and gather information about me from the internet. He has copied information from dating sites, chat rooms and public support groups like those on yahoo. I believe without access to my ID, he wouldn't have been able to access this information. Any comments or suggestions?

Right now I have Comcast's free version of McAfee Anti-Virus and Firewall. Is it any good? Or would I be better off getting a free Anti-Virus and Firewall? Which free ones are any good? And finally if I install a new one and take the McAfee off my computer would it conflict the other computers in my house, since they would all still have McAfee

I see softwares where I search which claim they can trace where email are coming from or intercept them and know the destination. I also see programmes which claim to hack emails. Does all these really work that easy? Authorities trace emails like police, how are they able or is it so easy?

I am running Windows xp pro and it will not let me download my windows updates or verify that it is a legal version any more, I ran the test from the microsoft site and it tells me activex failed everything else passes.

I do have the activex file, I ran a search and I found it in my C drive, so how can I fix it so that microsoft recognizes that I have a genuine, valid windows program.

I'm hopeing I can fix it rather then reformat. Any help would be very much appreciated, I have gone through the microsoft site and emailed them already with no luck.

Thanks in advance for your help

My parents just bought a new computer and will be donating their old one, how do I COMPLETELY wipe everything off the computer, pretty much just start from fresh and leaving the windows program on it. It's not worth the money to bring to a computer shop to get them to do it. Please help.

A Trojan Horse is a nasty little virus that waits for a remote command to begin destroying your computer's defenses against attack and is usually as innocent looking as the toolbar you have in your browser. However since most Trojan Horses are well documented your anti virus program stopped it before any damage could be done.
That screen you saw was actually your anti virus program reacting to the threat and dealing with it. But since you turned off the computer so quickly out of panic the program didn't get a chance to finish its job and is now waiting to seek out the remains of the attacking software and destroy it.
Your system is safe but let the anti virus program run a scan to be sure. So just turn your computer back on and let whatever anti-virus program finish what it was programed to do

How can i do wat this guy told me 2?
