No but using it to download or upload material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright holder is.

Using Limewire or any other P2P file sharing program such as Kaaza or Bearshare, (free or paid) to download any copyrighted music, movies, software etc, without paying for it, is illegal in the USA.

Basically, it comes down to this: if you are downloading anything that you would normally pay (for or purchase) and you are NOT paying for it then you are stealing it. And in most countries stealing is illegal.

It is fairly rare, but people do get sued and fined for using these P2P programs. Such as this girl here:

Also, many of the files that are downloaded using these programs are bundled with viruses, trojans, spyware, and adware. Always scan everything you download using any P2P program with your anti-virus and anti-spyware software before you use then.

Limewire is totally legal and safe. i have been using it for 4 years and never had a problem.

I don't think so because the software is still available for download on the websites and other software downloading sites...

noo,all p2p is illegal that's why our governments is fighting them.
you download acopyright things that you don't have the right to download them unless you pay.

yes, but a lot of people still use it but whatever. I don't think people get fined for it or whatnot

yes it is, if you are using it to download songs instead of buy them, but everyone uses it, so you dont have to worry if you wanna use it
