security mainly depends on your internet browser and the website you are visiting

if u are accessing your bank info, and the website has good encryption, then u should be ok

for any personal information transfer, make sure the website has good encryption. If not, then better to wait until u are at a more secure location

However, most locations are not that secure, especially if you are really far from the desired destination (because the more hopping points, the more chances for security breaches)

hope this helps

I'm sure that hackers aren't waiting for unsuspecting tourists such as yourself to logon to Internet connected hotels in China ready to pounce whenever you're online trying to steal all your covert info.

China and elsewhere are the same - there are intruders and hackers everywhere. Be very careful in your use of public internet sites.
