I forgot the "setup password", and I already removed and replaced the "cmos", but the password is still there. I really have to bypass the password!

Google the motherboard maker and see if there is a reset button on the board ... You could also see if taking the cmos battery out over night might reset it... Check with the maker first though, there may be a jumper to make it reset as well...

Usually there is a jumper on the motherboard which can create a short to wipe out the password.

On some motherboards, you can pull the CMOS battery, wait 5 minutes, and re-insert the battery.

The password can be removed by someone who knows what they're doing. You, however, do not.

Passwords are designed to keep people from breaking into computers.

If you don't know the password, you can't get in.

If it really is your computer and you just forgot the password, you have learned a valuable lesson, and after buying a new computer, you'll take better care of your passwords.

You're going to have to open your computer case (you may need a philips screw driver for this). First, power down your computer, and unplug everything. On the motherboard (the largest looking 'chip' of the all) you will see a little battery, similar to the one in your watch. Pull it out. Leave it out for 15 minutes, and put it back it. BIOS should now be reset. Put everything back together, plug in back in, and boot your computer. Good luck!

Usually there is a BIOS reset jumper on the motherboard. Look up the motherboard model online and you should be able to find the manual for your specific one.
