loadded vista today cpu 100%, with out doing much,had xp pro before running smooth ....pc spec
2.5 celeron d 1gb ram .on board sound and graf

ive just orderd a radeon 9950 graf card will this help my cpu usage go down a bit,or will it just get me better graf.........can any one tell me how to get it down abit

hello people! i just want to ask because im wondering why intel has a pentium, a celeron, centrino, a core, a core 2, viiv, etc.? why do they have to make "families" of processors? does each have a specialty or something? if yes, can you give some descriptions on where each family is gud at? like "centrino is great for laptops..",etc.? thanks!

After my computer restarted from the system restore it said that the restore was incomplete. I really need this system restore to work. How can I get it to work?

tried to update driver, it says I already have the most updated version. Tried doing a sys restore, (six time, six different dates), won't let me do it. I don't really want to do a destructive restore, because I have some things that I haven't saved to disc yet that I don't want to lose. Any advice??

I bought a Compaq SR1920NX many months ago; I already added RAM, a new video card, etc... but now I'm looking at processor. I believe this is a Socket 939 motherboard (currently housing an AMD Athlon 64 3500+)... seems Socket 939 is becomming less and less common due to AM2.

Can I upgrade to, say, this?

More importantly, would it be WORTH IT? The cache looks nice, as does dualcore... but I'd like opinions first. A new motherboard/cpu combo is out of the question ATM, hence why I am only looking at a Processor. Seems this is as high as I can go.

What's the best choise of graphic tablet for a beginning graphic designer? It will be mostly used on a laptop [macbook pro]. Usually I just do photo manipulation and such, but I am experimenting with other things at the moment and would like a graphics tablet, but I dont want to choose the wrong one for me.

Before I went to work today, my computer seemed fine. In fact I've had this computer for about 4 years, no problems to speak of have ever come up. But When I returned from work, I came home to find when I turned on my monitor, there was a lot of blue and black zig zagging going on. I hooked up another monitor and the monitor said "The monitor works. Check PC connection cable and see if Computer is on." The computer is deffenetly on. What's going on here? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a TON, I mean TON of spyware/trojans/virus' on my computer. How do I reformat, crash, or whatever you call it, to start it brand new? I know anything I want to save I have to back-up on disks cause it will get lost, but I need to do this!
Please if you could, use very easy to understand step-by-step instructions.........

I have just updated to Vista Ultimate but i have no sound and i need to a graphic accelerator!
But my old ones are not working says that "the following programm is not suported by Windows"
Where do i find some drivers?
Graphic card:ASUS v476
Sound card:VIA K8T800 Chipset (don't know but i hope it helps ...)

I just upgraded my motherboard, cpu, and PSU, i am using my old hard drives, optical drives and video card.

When i power on the system i get 1 beep, then right fater that 8 fast beeps come. the system does not post and there is no display.

Im using Windows 2003 Server as my workstation PC :P Anyway accoridng to Device Manager's Display Adapters I have installed 3dfx Voodoo3 PCI card, NVidia Geforce4 MX 440 AGP card, and a ATI mach64 CT PCI.

The Voodoo and Geforce4 are working just fine and Im able to use 2 monitors but now im getting greedy. I want 3 monitors and so ATI mach64 was plugged in. Unfortunately Im seeing the classic (!) yellow icon next to the listing anf the Device status reads: This device cannot start. (Code 10). Under Resources tab it just states "This deivce isnt using any resource because it has a problem".

Any ideas on how to get this 3rd PCI video card to work so that i can use 3 monitors? I've already tried several ATI mach64 drivers without luck.

I only use 6 GB of memory of the Hard Disk, I dont have a video card the Ghz of my com is 2.55, my com does not have a virus 'cause my antivirus is updated, the memory card of my com is 512Mb. Everytime the com gets slow i reformat it.

I have and older computer and when I start it up I get a "disk read error occurred" then below said ctl+alt+del to restart. I restarted the computer with ctl+alt+del and the same thing happened again. I went into the bios and every thing seems fine, also there is nothing in my floppy drive or my cd drive. It will not start in safe mode. I even hooked my hard drive up to another computer and that computer started and worked without any problems. My son was the last person on this computer and he swears it was working fine when he turned it off. Is there any other reasons that could cause a disk read error? Thanks for any help.

When I open a JPG photo, close it and then eject device -- I get an error message. It always ejects properly for word processing and other documents. Anyone know? Or had this problem?

My memory stick is corrupt - I cannot retrieve any of the files on it. I am a teacher and lots of my planning from several years is on it. (Should have backed it up, I know!) Is there any way to get these files back again so I can view them successfully? Thanks for any help
