Its in reality a matter of preference, there is no big difference , there are differences if you want to look at it from a technical point of view , but if u are a consumer ull never really see a difference , its all about brand loyalty for customers , and how the computer looks , then again u can get some amazingly beautiful PC cases that look much better then the Mac box's so its all a matter of taste . One disadvantage of Mac’s is that, if u want to upgrade u have to go to them (in most cases unless u know people) , and have to most likely buy parts from them which cost allot more then the same thing for a normal windows PC. so all in all ull just pay allot more for a Mac and not get allot more , but a pretty shell .

If you prefer to have less ability to see what is going on "behind the scenes" of your computer and only want to use applications, then there is nothing wrong with a Mac. Their multimedia apps run beautifully.
But have you ever heard of an IT Administrator that works on a Mac? Or a hacker that hacks on a Mac? Of course not. Windows hackers are frowned upon too, but at least it's possible.
Macs do what they do great. Just don't expect to make them do anything else.

I totally agree with ELfa Geek, it is a personal choice. You do pay more, but then people that purchase a Lexus or BMW pay more than do the people buying a Toyota, Nissan, or Ford for that matter.
As for Sven & Pablo: You get what you pay for. There are "Apple evangelist" (Look it up on wikipedia below) also know as Mac evangelist's that in the past would never be seen using a Pee-Cee as they called them. If they used a x86 Processor then they were EVIL.
Apple came out with the GUI (Graphics User Interface) much earlier than Windows did, and in doing so has a much more stable base system. Windows keeps adding features but keeps a lot of the older stuff, in their base system. Thus the reason Windows is referred to as BLOATWARE.
Mac OS's are much finer tuned, and keep updating at the lowest level of the operations instead of just piling more on the top.
P.S. I own/operate 3 Pentium 4 machines and a Core-2 Duo Laptop, and quite a few older Macintosh's. I love them ALL!
Cost is the real deal breaker for me... Thus the Pentium 4's... Cheaper

It's just a matter of brands lah ;) You can go for anything you like unless you've been using Mac for a long time now. If you are a beginner and want ease of use, just go for a Windows PC

MORE power, stability, performance, Security and they are beautiful... but something bad is that u can donwload so many things for Mac as for Windos... or the newest version of software are not disponible for mac! Windows has advanteges too Updates, Compatibility, etc
In my case I would love to try a MAC...

It's a personal preference.
Go to an Apple Store and take OS X for a test drive, then, decide for yourself.
I prefer the Mac, but I make my living FIXING Windows. What does that tell you?
