With win98 you may have a problem. There was very limited USB support in Win 98. If you are unfortunate to have Win98 1st release then you may be out of luck. If your Win98 is 2nd release then after installing all of the available windows updates you should be able to get the correct win98 driver from the manufacturer of the USB drive. Go to their web site and look for a link to drivers or downloads. If you don't have luck there, go to www.drivers.com for drivers for your windows version.

USB flash drive support was only available through online updates. Since Windows 98 is no longer a supported OS the drivers and patches are no longer available from Microsoft. The only way to use a USB flash drive would be to find someone who does not mind copying the update for you.

That's right. You need to go out to the manufacturer's website and look under their support pages for downloads. If it is Windows 98 compatible, they will have a driver posted out there.

Good luck!

You will have to go to the manufacturer of the flashdrive for this. Don't be too disappointed if it doesn't work.

I recently purchased an Ativa 2G flashdrive which states on the package that it is not Win98 compatible.

You need Win98SE (an update) to network, USB, or firewire with Win98. You would have to locate Win98SE on eBay or find someone who has it.
