I have read similar questions regarding this issue and nothing seems to fit my situation. I played a game straight from MSN games so I'm sure it didn't contain a virus. The game played fine, no problem there, but when I stopped playing and shut the game down, my whole computer screen had become magnified! I always keep my resolution at 800x600 and I checked that first and the bar was still at that resolution.

Currently I have my resolution at 1024 x 768 but the screen still looks funny. Is this a software problem or a hardware problem? Any ideas on how to fix it??

I am the semi-proud owner of an eMachine equipped with an MSI MS-7173 motherboard, Pentium 4 3GHz, 1024MB PC-400 RAM, and the puny ATI xPress 200 IGP chipset. I was curious if anyone has ever successfully overclocked the GPU, asI am planning on buying a far better card. However, I would like to see what I can do with what it has before I replace it, regardless of the damage it will do. Please post a link to a site or at least explain how you managed to do so.

In my opinion every hard disk manufacturer should think the possibility of installing some good anti-virus firmware to eleminate the viruses when using this HDD. We can updated this software by visiting the manufacturer's site. Why no one thinks over this idea ?

Okay so today I reformated my computer and I have 2 questions,

1. When it first starts you know how there's that black screen, well it takes a long time for that to load...and I dunno why it's never happened be4..
it says like: Main Processor: Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.939 GHz (133x22)
<(CPU ID: and then there's some numbers Patch ID:and 4 more numbers>
and then after it says
Memory Testing and so on..
I don't know if that has anything to do with it..but can someone plz help me out..how do I fix that, cuz it takes like forever to load...
and

2) When I start my computer after it loads and all there's this black screen and it says Windows XP Home Edition and then I have to chose between the 2 ones, the first one is the new one and the second one is my old account, before I reformatted, ..and I have like 29 seconds to chose, you know what I'm talking about right..well how can I delete the second one..cuz it's the old one and I really need to get rid of it..does anyone know how..??
Cuz even when I scan for example, it scans my old account too,..still with the viruses...

So, can you plz help me out here...thanxx..

If you have computer performance questions tell us your computer's specs. Processor, memory, video gpu, hard drive size, and what other drives you have. Most of the time this will make it easier to figure out.

I read several reviews and may have decided on an ATI X1800XT. I want to be able to play some games (I really want to be able to play Oblivion), but don't have a very big wallet. Anyway, I was told by someone I might have to upgrade my power supply. I have a fairly new HP computer that has a 300W supply. Is this true? Also, I usually shop on Newegg for this type of thing. I searched for the model and it brought up two different brands, Sapphire and ASUS, one of which costs $150 less. Here's a link:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=X1800XT

Is there really any difference in the two?
If anyone has any suggestions for a better card for $150-200, I would like those too (let me know why you think it's better, though).

Thanks for any help!

When i first got my G5 laser mouse it had extremely exception accuracy. Within a few days it seemed to be less accurate on small moves and now i will move it slightly and sometime the cursor even jitters in a direction i wasn't moving. This seems to happen with all mouses. Is there any way to keep the exceptional accuracy of the first day?

I am currently using PC3200 DDR RAM on my Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard.

I am thinking of changing my existing PC3200 RAM for the more superior PC4000 RAM, to make my system faster. Will this particular motherboard make use of the extra speed potential of PC4000 RAM, or will it not make any difference if a motherboard of that age isn't designed to run faster RAM speeds than PC3200? I heard that faster DDR RAM is still compatible for my motherboard but will only run at the maximum speed that my board is designed for. If PC3200 is the fastest RAM speed my system can run at, then I might as well stick to what I already have.

Thanks.

I didn't buy a LightScribe DVD writer it just came bundled with my computer. I have however seen the hype, promising silk screen quality labels. I am not seeing that. I find it to be adequate (just). It saves the step of printing labels on the printer.
It takes about 20 minutes to burn one DVD label and the text does not stand out too well. Has anyone else experienced this?

Will it harm my computer (laptop) if I play a PC game that requires 500 MHz (Pentium Processor, or AMD Athlon processor) though I only have 400 MHz (Intel Celeron M Processor 370)?

I believe I meet all other minimum requirements to play.

Thanks for your time!
