If you have 2 windows installs then you did not reformat your hard drive. It sounds like you just installed windows again.

When you reformat a hard drive it efeectivly wipes it out like a clean slate.

Your problems and system boot speed are being caused by having two bootable operating systems installed.

I recommend you start over again and actually reformat the hard drive before doing a clean install of windows.

You have not re-formatted, just loaded a new copy, a great waste of disk space. To do a re-format you need to do it all again and this time pay attention to what is on the screens. When asked if you want to install, choose the d option to delete any existing partitions then create a new partition and tell it to load to that. After you have finished re-start the machine, go into the bios and set up fast boot or hide post screen, whichever is offered. This is your only option, otherwise you will still have all the garbage on the disk you had before, especially viruses etc.

you need to do a clean install.Do not boot windows installation in old windows..go into bios and set CD ROM to boot first. Then insert CD and reboot. That's the only way to have a clean install. All files will be lost...good luck
