in my college there r lots of viruses and when i use the pen drive in those computers the content(virus) automatically gets stored in the pen drive i cannot delete it or format the pen drive wat do i do

This is something that really baffles me. I am presently using this PC with 2000 and is working fine with a conventional mouse. It has given me no trouble at all.

Then one day, I decided to use a plug and play mouse. When I reboot the PC with the new mouse, it literally showed nothing. on screen.

Initially, I suspected nothing and I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what went wrong. It was only later when I decided to use back the old mouse and everything went back to normal.

Can the change of one simple item like a mouse create so much trouble? I mean I got nothing on the screen. It is just blank.

Hi! My PC is 2.536hz, 224mb,celleron. how can i optimize its speed w/o spending. it seems there should be some speed matching to be done with the RAM, cpu, and etc's.

on my motherboard i have 4 sata connections and only one dvr-rw so i know i can connect an other drive as slave but maninly i wanted to know if i could connect one hard more hard drive and 2 other cd or dvd drives to the avalible sata connections and do dvd / cd drives use lots of power or will the oem on be ok its 350 watts i think thank you for you help.

Although, this really isnt an issue yet, it might be and I want to avoid it. I am trying to purchase a Dell E520 that comes with a 305 watt PSU. I am also trying to purchase an EVGA nVidia 7600GT DVI that requires 350 watts. I've read so many forums and half of them say that you need to upgrade the power supply, and half of them say the 7600 GT will run fine on a 305 watter. I do not want to destroy any hardware, and I have so many different opinions. Will testing the card on the 305 destroy it first time? Could it work for a while and slower degrade the card or the PSU? Help! What is the real answer?!?!

when i try to delete my partition it comes up saying i put in the wrong volume label. but i can't figure out what other thing it could be. it looks like A1, but the 1 does't look like the 1 you type in, can ne one tell me if theirs another #/letter that looks like a 1? i tryed (L,I and a couple others) please help me. thx

LINUX fails to install in my new external harddrive (error:"failed to create folders"). When I go back to Linux Ubuntu I can see the external harddrive but can't access nor modify it. Now WINDOWS/Start/My Computer can't locate the external HD (does not say (E:) or nothing at all). Its connected using USB. I already re-installed its driver in XP & rebooted and this does not help. *QUESTION: How do I get access again using XP WINDOWS? Thanks!

Am I missing something? I have upgraded, and there is still not enough umph. I know that a computer will only run as fast as its slowest component. But, I am wondering if there is something in BIOS that I should change so that the RAM is utilized better. Perhaps something I over looked.

im doing a computer course in college, its my third year and its tough, anyone know a good way of studying where i can remember this stuff, help i have 5 weeks left in college and a want to pass, you see its not that i want to pass this course i want to learn it, id love to be a techno genius at computer stuff

you see i dont want to end up passing and forgetting what i have done, id love to remember it all

its like with tv and i remember alot of stuff from films from there what remember details from there, thats because its interesting, i wish they could try and do films like that but with learning but without you knowing it

What are the different hard drive connections and what are those particular HD's used for?

I have used the older HD's with their respective connections and I recently added two newer HDs with a smaller thin data cable; I have them setup as an array. It all works but I don't understand it.

I have a Lenovo T60p laptop with two 2gb memory chips in it.
Properties of the computer shows 3gb.
The Taskmanager/Performance screen shows 3144044.

Why is it not 4gb?

I am about to purchase a laptop (Intel Dual Core) and have noticed that those with 1GB RAM are a lot cheaper than those with 2GB RAM...

Now how much difference does double the RAM make - Will I really notice the difference between 1GB RAM and 2GB RAM?

If yes in what type of applications will this make a difference?

Is it worth paying for the extra RAM?

I rarely if ever use any of the keys on the right side of my keyboard, except the Del. button. Does someone make a shorter keyboard, that will take up less space on my desk, without those extra keys I dont seem to use anyhow?

my local disk D is not formatted and if you do it deletes everything that has on it now i don't know what it has on it but i dont know what the dangers are of foramtting it please tell me soon as i need more space on my pc. it has like 40 gigs free on it and i would be grateful if you answered my question. thanks

I am interested to know if there is much difference between the Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.8Ghz and the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13Ghz? Am I going to notice a big difference when playing games, surfing net, video editing etc, etc? I just don't know which one I should purchase as all this is really new to me? I have an internet speed of 384kbps. Before, It was easy to watch a video on youtube. I mean, loading was fast. And now, it is really slow! it always stops. then, i'll wait for more minutes!
