I was thinking of getting a DDR2 Ram. But i was wondering, is there a lot of difference between DDR2 800 and DDR2 667? I was refering to those normal rams but not those extreme rams. And i saw 2 brands, Patriot and AData. So which one is better?

Here's my setup:
Athlon 64 3200+, 512mb (pc3200 400MHz) x 2 (1GB total) of RAM, some 10,000rpm hard drive, dual-monitors, no background apps running.

Today I finally upgraded my video card from a PNY GeForce 5950 Ultra (256mb 8xAGP) to a PNY GeForce 7600 GS (512mb 8xAGP).

I ran World of Warcraft, and the frame-rate was still averaging about 30fps at 1280x1024. When I run WoW, I have about 256mb of physical RAM still free, but my CPU is usually between 90-100% usage.

However, even when I lower the resolution, and my CPU usage is between 80-95%, I only get a few frames better.

Is my CPU bottle-necking my system when it comes to running WoW? Surely the 7600 GS is superior to the 5950 Ultra ... right? And what else would help to increase my system performance? (Remember I'm using socket 939 so I can't get too fancy of a processor.)

Thanks for your help!
Derek

My computer has been acting funny for a while....When I start it up it says "Smart failure predicted on hard disk 0 Hitachi_DK23FA-80-(PM) Immediately back-up data and replace your hard disk drive. A failure may be imminent.
Press F1 to continue.
It says that everytime I restart. Lately it has been shutting itself down and saying "Operating system not found" On a black screen.
I know a little about computers but not this much! I am assuming my hard disk drive is my C: drive..Correct?
I know this thing is going to crash eventually, but works for now. (kinda)
I found this website and I was wondering if I should get a "bare drive" and if that is what I need.
http://www.drivesolutions.com/cgi-bin/shop/ug2store.cgi?command=listitems&kind=sol&pos=0&type=itemid&itemid=sol1657
I ran it on PCpitstop.com and it said my C: drive was having issues. Should I get a Bare Drive? Or what?
I need my computer for school and can't afford a new one!
Thanks in advance.

Can somebody tell me in layman's terms about AMD CPUs and motherboard?

What is the difference between AMD and Pentium? Also, can programmes developed for AMD be used in Pentium motherboard. Also are devices, such as hard disk or RAM cards for the AMD motherboard compatible with Pentium motherboard? Can I use a RAM card made for Pentium motherboard in a AMD motherboard? Does AMD motherboards also use SATA sockets?

Are there any differences that I should take note of?

I need your help. I live and minister in the Philippines, so trying to find help over here is next to M-pozible and my SSA disability is small.
1. I forgot to do a proper shut down.
2. When I turned it back on it went to a black screen that said sorry but.......it then gave me the options of starting in "Safe mode, along with several other modes.
3. No matter which one I chose it would blank out for about 5 seconds and come back to the same screen with the different modes to choose form.
4. I took it to an internet cafe they tried putting one of their hard drives in mine and it did the same thing.
5.Then they took my hard drive and hooked it up to another computor to save the information from mine so they could try reloading windows.
6. When they hooked mine to the other computor it ran "scan disk" and then it saved.
7. They put hard drive back in mine to reload but it worked fine then.
8. It would not run scan disk on mine, but it had before when I forgot to shut down.

I just bought a new external samsung 100gb HDD abt 7hrs back. The guy at the store formatted it n everything. The HDD is inside a A1 Pro casing n is connected to my computer through a USB2.0 cable.

although the light on the HDD is on, (not blinking) green in color, my computer is not detecting the External HDD.

i have gone to control panel n gone to device manager, tried to detect changes in my computer, tried installing new hardware, and even plugged into all 3 of my USB ports in my computer.. none of the above seems to help..

please help me!!
