You can open up the box or your laptop to examine what you have plugged in already and get the same or better at your PC shop etc. You may need to remove the memory chip to have a good look, use anti static wrist strap to reduce the chance of zapping your chip, don't force anything, undo clips on ends of RAM and always plug it back in the same way around and of course have the machine turned off when you perform this operation. A small mirror and a bright light will help in there too! Good luck!

First of all, what type of RAM
DDR1 or DDR2

Second, how many mhz is the RAM
Has to be equal or higher than original RAM or else the original RAM will go slower.

Thats all i did when i bought RAM a month ago

Go the company web site who made the computer. Look up the model and number of the computer. The web site will give you all the spec. you need any computer you want look up.

Why not check your documentation that came with the computer you want to upgrade? I'll bet the documentation has the answer...
