Thank you for your time.

To transfer all of the programs and settings from the slow computer the faster computer, I have used and recommend the program called Moveme:

It is possible to speed up the slow computer to a usable level with a little bit of tweaking, here is a guide I put together on it:

A slow computer can be caused by many things, but there are a few key areas you can easily work on yourself to speed your computer up. To start, make sure you have enough memory (RAM) installed to run Windows and all of your applications correctly. I made a step-by-step guide to help you determine how much memory you have installed, and how to upgrade it if necessary:
http://www.fix-my-slow-computer.com/memory-check.html

Once you know your RAM is up to snuff, you need to make sure there are no unwanted programs eating up your computer’s resources and memory. Spyware, Adware and Malware can all cause problems on your computer, and need to be removed. To learn the difference between the three, and how to clean them off of your computer, see my anti-spyware guide here:
http://www.fix-my-slow-computer.com/spyware-check.html

Now that your computer is free of spyware, you need to make sure there are no viruses hiding in the system. Before you worry about removing viruses, you should take a moment to learn exactly what they are, and what ill effects they can have on your computer:
http://www.fix-my-slow-computer.com/virus-check.html

Most computers come with a virus program installed, but they are often times a 30-90 trial of the program. Make sure you get a full version of one of the popular programs, and keep it updated and run scans on a regular basis.
After you know your computer is clean, you should clean and defrag your hard drive(s):
http://www.fix-my-slow-computer.com/clean-your-hard-drive.html

Once that is done, you need to check and clean your computer’s registry:

The few simple steps above are pretty much exactly what large office supply chain stores, major electronics retailers and local computer shops do when they charge you $100 and up to clean and maintain your computer. Follow my advice and do it yourself for free, both your computer and wallet will be happier.

You can try using a USB memory device (flash drive, external hard drive), a USB transfer cable which is a special cable you have to buy that allows one computer to transfer files to another, or just move your old hard drive to the new computer.

If your older computer doesn't have a USB port your options are really limited, you can try floppy disks (slow!!) or move the old hard drive to the new computer.

To do this, remove the screws and unplug the wide ribbon cable from the motherboard leaving it connected to the old hard drive. The older IDE interface is backward compatible all the way back to ATA33 which was used in old 60MHz Pentium 1 computers, so your old hard drive should work in you new computer. Turn off and UNPLUG the new computer and temporarily install the old drive in the new computer. If your new computer is using all of the IDE connectors (the thin, long connector with 40 pins), then you might have to unplug the IDE ribbon cable that goes to devices that you don't need - like the CD / DVD drives - just don't unplug the one that goes to your new hard drive. Plug the ribbon cable from the old drive into the 40 pin "IDE" connector in the new computer making sure that Pin 1 (the colored wire on the ribbon cable) is plugged into Pin 1 on the mother board - there will be a "1" next to it or an arrow. Usually there is a "key" on the cable that will only allow it to be plugged in the correct way. Then plug in a 4 pin power connector to the old drive and power up the machine.

Windows should recognize the old drive and you will be able to copy everything to the new computer. Once done, I would recommend removing the old drive as a slow drive will slow down other IDE devices you have.

30kb/s isn't very quick, and connection is in preserving with many aspects, and a computer doesn't no longer play a significant position on your information superhighway connection. Double examine once you've numerous classes using the information superhighway (e.g. a messanger or you're downloading something or something like jukebox it really is linked to the information superhighway). also, there's a moderate threat someone round you is doing something spoke of as "modem capping" or in different words they're stealing your bandwith, yet thats not likely.
