Pci-Express x16, AGP, PCI-E x1, then PCI.

The express being faster then agp is really more false. Seems to have issues running at that x16 speed. So it's mostly theory.

If it's the same chipset, there is almost NO difference really. As for what to get, PCI-Express x16 is the choice, as new motherboards use that connection now, agp has been discontinued. If you have an old system, like a agp slot, you can still upgrade, but limited choices as most video cards are now PCI-E only. If you only have pci-e x1 or pci, there is really no choices for any 3d gaming.

PCI express x16, definitely.

But if you are talking about a budget PCIe card, you would not see the difference in games whether you use x16 or x1 slot or if you compare it w/ an equivalent 8x AGP card.

The difference starts to show up in mainstream cards and definitely in high end cards.

PCI-E 16x every time
thats because it is twice the bandwidth of AGP, so it transfers stuff faster between it and the motherboard
AGP has 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x, so its considerably slower than PCI-E 16x
and PCI-E 1x isnt used for video cards, so just forget it
