I didn't buy a LightScribe DVD writer it just came bundled with my computer. I have however seen the hype, promising silk screen quality labels. I am not seeing that. I find it to be adequate (just). It saves the step of printing labels on the printer.
It takes about 20 minutes to burn one DVD label and the text does not stand out too well. Has anyone else experienced this?

The LightScribes work like that.
Please don't try the above answer (printing twice or thrice) as that might spoil your DVD or overlap the previous label

Lightscribe is/was more hype than its worth. I have 2 lightscribes and I never use the lightscribe feature anymore. I guess it would be handy if you are burning a dvd for someone else and you do not have a labeler.

It's very faded looking. Burn it twice or three times if you want darker output, but don't expect miracles.
