I am currently using PC3200 DDR RAM on my Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard.

I am thinking of changing my existing PC3200 RAM for the more superior PC4000 RAM, to make my system faster. Will this particular motherboard make use of the extra speed potential of PC4000 RAM, or will it not make any difference if a motherboard of that age isn't designed to run faster RAM speeds than PC3200? I heard that faster DDR RAM is still compatible for my motherboard but will only run at the maximum speed that my board is designed for. If PC3200 is the fastest RAM speed my system can run at, then I might as well stick to what I already have.

Thanks.

Your PC will only take advantage of PC4000 ddr if you OVERCLOCK your processor. Otherwise, it will just operate as PC3200. There might be some performance gain at this setting, if the PC4000 has low latency.

The PC4000 ddr is popular among PC enthusiasts/overclockers who squeeze out every drop of performance from their rigs.

like the different persons suggested you isn't waiting to make certain all 4gb no count number what yet you ought to make certain extra then 2.6. How did you realize its a motherboard project and in no way OS? have you ever tried a stay boot disc like knopix and see how a lot memory is acknowledged? What about bios how a lot memory is acknowledged there? No it would not count number what slots you position them in.

Thats right, the bus speed of the mobo will only run so fast. You cant put ram with a faster bus speed in and expect it to change the speed. Its all in the mobo hardware.
