Before I went to work today, my computer seemed fine. In fact I've had this computer for about 4 years, no problems to speak of have ever come up. But When I returned from work, I came home to find when I turned on my monitor, there was a lot of blue and black zig zagging going on. I hooked up another monitor and the monitor said "The monitor works. Check PC connection cable and see if Computer is on." The computer is deffenetly on. What's going on here? Any help would be appreciated.

The problem is within the monitor or the monitor cable. Plug the problematic monitor up and slowly bend the VGA cable (not the power cable) starting behind the monitor and working your way to the back of the PC. If you bend the cable and your video corrects itself then you have a bad VGA cable. If you don't see a corrected video, then the cable already has a kink or the monitor is bad. Usually the lines is a sign of cable issues.

Did anyone accidentally move the adjustment buttons?

All monitors seem to be different - mine has a menu button and a + and - .

Check the monitor itself, and/or go to the manufacturer's web site for help on adjusting monitor settings.

Sounds like a potential video card issue.
