I am out of printer ink and I was going to put my daughters homework on my flash drive so she could print it off at school.

#1 Obviously when I plug it in win xp will recognise an external
storage device. Do I need to do anything else?

#2 Then if I drag and drop what needs to be open to drop the file
in.

#3 Also when she gets to school, when she plugs it in will that
computer open up a window asking her what she wants to do
with the documents?

#4 Can you save web pages on it? Because my Mozilla Firefox
browser doesn't have an option "send" when I right click on web
pages.

every time i look at a video game i see the system requirements[i need to know if it will work on my pc] but 1 thing.....i dont know what my pc has!! i dont have any papers that came with it. so is there any way to find out what my stuff is?? like

I put on some new speakers a few months ago, nice ones. They had good sound, not too lout, not too quet... but one day...
So now, my speakers are waaay too loud. My comp is at it's lowest system volume setting without being off and it's still too loud - what do I do? iTunes isn't the problem, it's the whole system. My speakers have no volume knob anywhere, and the cable connecting the speakers to my comp is fine (I even switched it out for a new one, it's still loud).
Does anyone have a fix?

I want to power a PS/2 keyboard and be able to switch on/off the 3 led lights (caps, num, scroll) I tried to supply 5Vdc to the keyboard from an external battery or regulated power supply, but after pressing Num/Caps/Scroll led lights did not light up.

Is the status of these lights is controlled by the timing/data signals?

Any circuit design or kit or device on the market that make the keyboard led lights operate as they are connected to a PC?

(please do not ask why I want this weird application) Thank you in advance

Okay I have done this a few times before But I have bought a new Hard Drive(one I care about this time) and would like to make sure i dont screw up.

I have 3 Hard drives.
I only have enough cables for 2
I have 2 With stuff On them(one segate and another I forgot brand)
1 Brand New(WD 160g)
I need to copy One of the ones I have stuff on(the one I have Windows on) and copy it onto my new oneand eventually replace it so long story short....

.....HDDa+HDDb in computer
I think i need to put
HDDc+HDDb and copy HDDb onto HDDc
and eventually have
HDDa+HDDc in computer

And I don't think I can use windows to copy because I will end up getting a (the file is being used by another person or progam) error

So I need a file or program or something i can load off of a cd of floppy

How do I get sound/audio from the built in speakers on my pc monitor? I have plugged in the plug from the back on the monitor (green one) in the correct socket and ive selected in the audio devices control panel the type of speakers i have and volume is up high, but still no sound! Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
surley u dont need to install software for the pc's own internal monitor speakers??

Hey,
Im trying to record what is on my T.V. and be able to edit it later in one of my programs., and I can't use a capture card because I dont have an output on my new T.V. . So my question is what exactly is a capture card. How do you install it?, and what is a good one for a good price.

A friend of mine is having crashing problems on her PC. I downloaded SeaTools to check her hard drive for errors. I thought I would try it out on my computer to see how to use it. But it tells me "no hard drives found." What? I have two hard drives, and they are in perfect working order. Another person asked this here (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070215050626AAFIRhB) and they were given a false answer, which is very unhelpful. There appear to be an issue with getting SeaTools to detect drives. Does anyone know how I might get it to detect my hard drives?

I just bought a multi function center with fax but I thought it was the kind of fax I could plug into a phone line but it is the kind that faxes thru the pc somehow but it says i need to make sure I have a fax modem. I have no idea what that is or if I have one or not.

For a while, I just told the kids that the CD-Rom was going out. For some reason, it was getting harder and harder for the drive to read pc games. It has no problem reading home made disks. But today, all day long, I have tried to play Sims 2 pets, and it wont do anything. The light just stays on, and it makes a sound as if it is trying to read the disk but cant. I put another game disk in and it does the same thing. But if I put in a picture cd, it'll read that.
Do I need to replace the drive? and if I do, how much would one cost? Remeber, I want to play the sims 2 and my son has the battlefield game; So it has to be fast enough for these games.

for the last 4 months i've been receiving a msg when i try to install a software. "extraction error,file corrupt"

i don't know what the problem is,i made a backup of my hard disk,and installed windows again.

i did that 5 TIMES with 5 different cds,i thought that it was a hardware problem,so i started tested each part one by one.i had 2 hard drive,two memory,and dvd burner.

everything else is built on-board

what do u think the problem can be?

I have the Sims 2 and a couple of expansion packs. I have an 80 GB external hard drive, and I want to install the games there and run them from there to keep them from running slow on my computer. When I am starting my install, I get an error message that says that the folder can not be created on my external drive. Am I doing somethinf wrong or is there something that I need to do to the externalk drive first?

For the past two weeks, my computer is behaving strangely.Its 3.06Pentium 4 with 256 RAM. but now it processes like Pentium -PII.
I think it could b bcoz of any virus from any software downloaded from internet sites ,as I dont use any Anti virus bcoz it reduces the speed. Later on I used "String" Macaffee to clean it but it could only provide solution for time being after 1 or 2 days problem comes back again.

But cd R/W is troubling me the most.all of a sudden it stops detecting the cds in the drive n shows drive is empty while there is cd in it.when I restore the computer to some back date when it was functioning allright CD drive works well but after 1 or 2 days problem is there again.I also used a Lense cleaner CD to clean the lense nearly 2 weeks back. Is this may b a root cause of all the problems.

Pls help me to combat these problems and provide solution for some better online available Antivirus for future ref..Pls mention
