for the last 4 months i've been receiving a msg when i try to install a software. "extraction error, file corrupt"

i don't know what the problem is,i made a backup of my hard disk, and installed windows again.

i did that 5 TIMES with 5 different cds,i thought that it was a hardware problem,so i started tested each part one by one.i had 2 hard drive, two memory, and dvd burner.

everything else is built on-board

what do u think the problem can be?

What is the Software that you are installing?
Maybe the corruption lies there, since you seem to have ruled everything else out
Of course, if the software you want to install affects a particular item of hardware, then that could be part of the story. If it is memory related, Firmware related, or something along those lines it would narrow things down somewhat

it is really rare, but I recommend you to have the latest Windows updates also install the .NET framework latest version 1.1,2.0, 3.0 latest.
make sure that u have the right and latest version of Installshield.
also I'm wondering what are u trying to install?
Use the same software from the soft manufacture website and see if works.

Well, you said that you only tried one DVD burner. Most likely the drive is either dirty or there is something physically wrong with it that is causing the data to be read incorrectly and thereby the data is being recognized as corrupt.
