Below is the Microsoft KB article on how to create the Windows XP boot disks.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a generic boot disk, use the other links.

When you format a floppy it should offer you the option of creating a startup disk. Don't let the earlier answer fool you. You can make startup discs for XP. Help and Support can point you in the right direction if you can't find it.

It is possible to make XP boot disks...
It is possible to run a DOS command prompt, which resembles a DOS session...
It is possible to run DOS programs in XP...

HOWEVER...

An XP system can't be booted to DOS. The two use completely different -- and incompatible -- file systems.

Just insert windows xp cd and through dos prompt give this command. "makeboot". Basically there will be a file in "makeboot.exe" in your xp cd. just try to execute it through dos mode. it'll ask u some disks and then just insert floppies.
