i'm searching for a science project for around 7th graders.?

im an assistant teacher trying to give some good sample projectr s to do i.e. The Effect of Various Sodas On The TEeth . not to hard. but long enough to write a report for and have a date or a chart for each day's observation ! :]

I always liked static electricity and work that into weather, then measure the charges each creates, that would be length and voltage, what different materials when rubbed against a balloon will create more or less of a charge and why

Maybe to get every ones attention asking them what creates lightning (static electricity), but don't tell them ask how they can find out (call a weather service, TV station with a meteorologist, and ask them to come to class on hopefully the first day and explain what causes and perhaps a demonstration of positive and negative charges)

The weather right now is perfect for it now

I did a rubber egg science project once.... I put an egg in a jar full of vinegar... every day the egg would get softer and softer till it was like rubber in the end(like two weeks) I could literally throw it and it would not break.. it would bounce!!. I had fun with this one!!

You should have them write a persuasive essay on their shosen topic ( like 9/11, or the death penalty ) - English

or have them research a certain element on the periodic table and have them make a poster on it- Science

or have them make a poster on American History like the Civil War, American REvolution, Dec. Of Ind., etc or on certain other events or presidents

this one is kinds wierd but...................you get different kinds of toliet paper brands and u put each one in water and see wihc one dissovles the fastest..............each day u record how much smaller it has gotten.............it might be better if u did this with paper towells
anohter idea is you plant 4 of the same plants........(any kind that have flowers)........ then everyday u water two of them with water and the other two with wter that is mixed wiht food coloring......(the food coloring has to be a color that flowers arent....like black........i think that might be the only color.) u record ur data seeing which one grows better and if it blooms........if the one that u watered wiht black food coloring has a darker colored flower r darker leaves

how long different types of gum keeps their taste and vicousy? i think thats how u spell it. lots of kids love to do this. Hope this helps!!
