The answer to that question is almost always "Yes", since if it's old enough to be upgraded, then it's old enough to need upgraded. (Mine's the same way.)

If nothing else, you'll almost certainly need to bump up your memory pretty soon. 256MB of RAM is bare minimum for most games right now, and blocks of that 256 are often taken up by things like disk cache. People like me who use on-board video also lose some of the installed memory towards that function. If you really want to get into the high-tech hardcore gaming, I suggest bumping up to a gig soon. It's not that expensive, it'll speed up your machine, and before long it'll be required for the games that will be coming out.

Okay im noticing that your computer is running on one of the older pieces of equipment released, i can recommend what i would do but it will be a very expensive upgrade and i can almost guaranty that it will be no less then 2K to build but it will be a whole nother machine. i will give you what i would love to have but i dont have the money to get, here is the list and you can find all of this on tigerdirect.com:
Asus Striker(Motherboard)
2GB of DDR2 RAM
A Qaud or Dual-Core processor of atleast 2.3GHz in speed
An 8800 graphics card
a soundblaster sound* card
At least two(2) DVD Burners/readers(dont get a blu-ray)
a good gaming keyboard/mouse
I would get a high perfomance HDD with Atleast 300GB.
or if you wanna save the trouble of building it, you can look into a prebuilt gaming system either from ABS.com or alianware.com
I wouldnt suggest Vista yet because there will be bugs in it for awhile plus not many games are compatible with it at the moment. I would go Windows XP Professional SP2 with all the latest drivers and updates for everything. anymore ? e-mail me at shorty9259@gmail.com

you need a new computer. At least a 3.2 gigahertz processor with 512 or more L2 cache. Bigger hard drive(mine is 160gb). More memory at least 512 megabytes, preferably a gig. better video card and dvd and cd drive. Dvd burner a big plus.

Not necessarily. the new Vista is a comparable change but if you feel comfortable with your current settings, keep'um just not too long
P.S. you might want a little more memory for that computer, maybe maximize it up to 1024Megabytes for extra speed
