1) Nope, if the device is recognized, it's successfully "installed" while it's in the USB port.
2) Open up the folder of the flash drive. This should be a folder within My Computer called something like "External Drive". Then open up the folder with the file you wish to copy. Simply copy and paste or drag and drop.
3) The computer at school will have the same folder with the flash drive contents as the one you dragged files into. Your daughter can open that file and drag and drop onto the desktop or a file on that computer.
4) Go to File -> Save Page As to save a web page (at least on Firefox). You can save that file onto the flash drive.

Once plugged in, a USB flash drive will work just like another hard drive. Once plugged in and the driver is loaded (XP will say "Your device is ready for use"), double-click "My Computer" and you should see it listed amongst your other drives (hard drive, DVD-ROM, etc). Double-click on it to see its contents(it might be an E: drive, depending on your system).
2- You can create folders if you want, or drag and drop right into the open window.
3- Most computers will open a window asking what she will want to do with the files it just found. Alternately, she can get into the drive the same way you did when you saved them in the first place.
4- In Firefox, you can do a "File --> Save Page As" to save a web page to disk (including a flash drive). I'm not sure if it saves pictures, or just text. If the computer she'll be using it on has internet access, you can open Firefox and drag-and-drop the icon that is next to the web site address onto the flash drive, and Windows will create a shortcut to that web page. Again, that'll only work if the computer she is using has Internet access.
Hope this helps...

Most times when you connect the flash drive, the windows options pop-up dialoge appears and asks you what you wish to do. You should select the option that looks like a folder, this will open up the contents of the flash drive in a folder, you may then drag anything you want into this folder. Whatever you place there will be saved to the flash drive.
You can save anything you want to the flash drive, anything that will fit of course. If you want to save a web page, while you have the web page open - click file at the top of the browser and click save - choose the flash drive from the drop-down list and click save.
The other way :
If for some reason the pop-up window doesn't open for you or for your daughter at school.....click start, click my computer, find the flash drive there and double click on it. (most likely the drive letter furthest along in the alphabet) - Then you can drag and drop what you want to the folder that you just opened ( I suggest right click "copy" & right click "paste" vs. drag and drop )

1) Yes. Your computer will automatically assign the drive it's own letter just like an external drive. Only it will be called "removable".
2) You do not have to have any thing open really. I would recommend finding the drive through My Computer and double clicking the drive, however. I just find it easier to deal with.
3) That depends on how the systems administrator at the school has the computers set up. In most cases, I think that the annoying pop up window asking what to do will open.
4)You should be able to save a web page to it just like you would a floppy or hard drive. File>Save As>Drive letter>folder (optional).
Hope that answers your questions.

Number One: no you don't need to do anything else. Just find the drive in My Computer. Number Two: you have to have the folder of which the file is in open in a window and a window of the flash drive. Just drag the file from the first folder onto the flash drive. Number Three: She can choose from the list or she can close that box, then open My Computer and find the files through there.
Number Four: Yes, you can save web pages onto a flash drive.

Ok. This is what happens. Windows XP will hopefully recognize your device. You're good to go from there. Open the document you need. For instance if it is microsoft word, open it up. next, click on "file" and from the drop-down list choose "save as." now save the document to another location- the flashdrive. Depending on the computer, it will be something like "E:" or "F:", or another letter. It doesn't really matter.
When your daughter gets to school, she can plug in the flashdrive to a USB port and (assuming the computer is Windows and all drivers are installed-they usually are, don't worry) you have to go to "My Computer." Next, click the drive letter (location) of the flash drive. Open the file, and print it.
Yes, you can save web pages. On Mozilla Firefox (I recommend download Firefox 2- it shouldn't matter however), go to "save page as". Just like with the word document, save it in the drive location.
You and you're daughter should be good to go...
Hope this helps!

When you plug the flash drive a window should pop up showing what's on it. If it doesn't go into My Computer and click on it. To transfer something to it open the folder on the computer your doughter's homework is saved in then drang the homework file from its location on the computer into the window that shows what is on the flash drive and it should transfer it and yes when your doughter plugs it into a computer at school that computer should automaticly ask her what to do. Yes you should be able to save web pages to the drive just by clicking save as in the file menue and selecting the flash drive as the save location. Hope this helps.

I beleive is easier for u to open the file on ur pc and use the save as option of the eg. Word or excel to save it on the remobable device. Dont forget to save it also on your docs. When u insert in the other machine u can either go to my computer-removable decive- and double ckick on it or open the program in question and use the open file and go to the removable device.
The copy-paste is still valid.
