its not the hard drive i just got a new one and i don't have any disks in any of my drives. i would like to fix it back the way it was before it messed up if possible. how it happened it was running slow after i played games. my computer doesn't have much RAM for games and such but idk if that would be a problem. I've tried going and repairing it with the windows disk but it still doesn't work right. i don't want to install it over again and lose all my stuff. i have TONS of important stuff on here. I'm not really smart with computers so please keep the answers simple. all answers appreciated! thanks.

I tried to reinstall the u3 launch pad program for my flash drive thinking it’ll work on my Vista operated compter yet all it did was shrink down the capacity of my USB drive from 512mb to 128 kb. During Installation I had to reformat the USB Drive. Another thing to add is I used my vista operated comp to do this operation. I tried reformatting it to change the size but the only choices were 128kb and the only file system available to choose was FAT.
I'm quite certain my USB drive has 512 mb because I've used it for about 3-4 months with at least 400+mbs of data always in it
My USB drive is a Cruzer Micro 512 USB Drive.

First...I need a place to download a configuration schematic that provides as much detail as possible. I am concerned about a couple of jumper settings as well as the level of flexibility in the CPU socket 462. What I'm interested in knowing is whether it will function with an Intel chip even though the socket itself appears to be designed for an AMD chip. Finally, the "brown" AGP slot is solid and without breaker gaps, if that makes sense. What I'm asking is about the type of card that plugs into this slot. All of my other AGP video cards have at least one seperation gap. A little confused, wouldn't you say. Someone gave me the motherboard with the assurance of it's quality and I don't want to damage it with my lack of knowledge. Thanks.

I'm building a PC for the first time, and I'm not sure if I goofed on the Motherboard/Case combo. The Motherboard has 4 external USB 2.0 ports, and 2 USB headers. The case has 2 front panel USB 2.0 ports, each with its own plug. That pretty much maxes my USB port and/or USB-powered device potential so far as I can see.
I still want to add a USB add-on card to the rear I/O (has to be a PCI-Express add-on) and I have an internal USB-powered card reader that requires two USB headers on the Motherboard.
What should I do to expand both the number of external USB ports as well as the accommodate the internal USB-powered devices? I've seen PCI-Express USB 2.0 add-ons that have an internal USB port, but that would only accommodate one of the two card reader plugs.. I also don't want to have the front panel ports disconnected and not working.

I have a good idea, but want to know what you all think.

Also, If anyones interested I'm in Michigan Saginaw, Lansing, Ionia, St Johns, Grand Rapids, Bay City, Midland...... I'm close to all of these, I travel.

Its a desktop pc that I made, it works good and has never crashed.

AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.8 Ghz
1 gig of ram, in one chip, = open slot
Nvidia GeForce FX 520 graphics card, it has 256 ram
CD/DVD Burner Dual Layer burns dvd's at 16x i think, and cd's at 40 something rips dvd's pretty fast too
17" flat panel monitor, (slight amount of burn in across the top, but you don't notice it when your using programs, just on the desktop)
Keyboard and Mouse
XP home edition or whatever its called, sp2
Microsoft office, word excel powerpoint

cant think of the mobo name right now, but i dont think that really matters

thanks peeps

When I first got my PC it ran decent. It came with an Intel Celeron D processorand 256 MB of RAM running Windows XP Home Edition. Since then I added 1 GB of RAM to my PC. At that point, it ran perfectly smooth. I was wondering what has been causing the slow down lately. I have no clue what is up. I tried Virus-Scanning, Scanning for Spy-Ware, and Defragmenting my hard drive. I also tried removing unnecessary programs from my computer. Nothing has helped. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks a ton!

Do I put in the CD that it came with? I don't have an XP cd seperately, but it says that "The Restore DVD...gives a complete backup of the software that was preinstalled in the PC at the factory..." It came with XP, so will this work? I'm not ready to do it yet because I have some more backing up to do, but how do I do it? Just stick the CD in and restart? I'm computer stupid. lol.
