its not the hard drive i just got a new one and i don't have any disks in any of my drives. i would like to fix it back the way it was before it messed up if possible. how it happened it was running slow after i played games. my computer doesn't have much RAM for games and such but idk if that would be a problem. I've tried going and repairing it with the windows disk but it still doesn't work right. i don't want to install it over again and lose all my stuff. i have TONS of important stuff on here. I'm not really smart with computers so please keep the answers simple. all answers appreciated! thanks.

first try a repair with the windows disc, that should take care of the problem. Then if that doesn't work it is quite possible that the hard drive failed. It's very common with new equipment.

If you have replaced your hard drive without re-installing every thing that is the problem and it needs windows installing. If you've added a second hard drive then have you set the new drive to be a slave to the original. That's a small jumper next to the connectors on it.

Well it isn't reading the hard drive. You may have a bad controller. I saw one that messed up a second hard drive right after we put it in. It ran just long enough to get it reloaded.

The bad news is the controller is part of the motherboard.

wish your no longer easychronic did no longer have a head crash. if it did you're SOL. you will ought to create a bootable floppy or cd on somebody else's device and get it besides to thatchronic first and not your no longer easychronic. you do backup all your significant information, applicable? in case you do no longer know common computer upkeep then you definately don't have a working laptop or computer besides. examine to work out in case you have a restore disc a minimum of. if thechronic has a separate partition that isn't do you any solid if thechronic isn't readable.
