TV Tuner Cards?

Hey,
Im trying to record what is on my T.V. and be able to edit it later in one of my programs., and I can't use a capture card because I dont have an output on my new T.V. . So my question is what exactly is a capture card. How do you install it?, and what is a good one for a good price.

ATI's Tv wonder is a decent card that simply fits into a pci slot and works similar to the tuner in your television.

If you have ever installed a modem or something like that it is very similar.

If you haven't then you might want to look into hauppage's external tuners, they would be much easier to install.
