do i defrag? and how do i do that? i've spent the past 6 hours troubleshooting. and i did it. it was hard but i finally got my computer to work. now i'm up and running but even my typing is slow....(then again i may have set it to that. lol i was messing with some buttons. like the F10 and then i changed some settings lol...lord knows what i did lol can ANYONE who is pc literate tell me how to increase my virtual memory ...or how to defrag....this all happened when i got attacked by spyware...i'm assuming though...

and i want to know when you buy video card what dose it mean by DDR2,DDR3,DDR II SDRAM ...what that mean .. and which kind is better ?

When i go to creative website to download my latest driver i can only see the latest X-fi cards listed! i don't have one of those three since i bought it before 5-6 months!

There is no driver choise when i use Product ID: SB0460
Only Vista driver comes up and i'm on XP!

I have a simple X-fi! no extreme gamers platinum elite thingy etcetc... it is the same in size and goldplated like all others but there is no front panel and remote control!

is this system good for playing all next generation games and for multitasking.

FYI: I have a 500 GB external hard drive, and I use it exclusively for storing my picture files--I bought it because my computer hard drive was almost full, clogged mostly with picture files. I load new pics from my digital camera onto my computer once a month.

-what's the most efficient (and easiest) way to move the pics from my computer to the external HD? Will this remove the picture files from my computer (since I need the space)?
-I often like to pull up the pictures and print some of them. Can I browse and print pictures directly from the external HD? Or do I actually have to move it back to my computer?
*I like to use Adobe Album 2.0 to organize and browse through my pictures. Is this even worth it if my entire picture collection is on the external HD? I would need to transfer each picture back whenever I'm using the Adobe, right?

i bought an hp pavillon a1750e from the hp website. resently i bought a new tower. i transfered everything to the new tower and now it wont come on. the power supply light comes on put the desktop wont power up and nothing appears on the screen. can anyone help or have a picture of the corret mother board setup for the a1750e. thanks.

I have reg mechanic, tune up utilities 2006, defragged,disk clean, opened case and cleaned,,,(once a week), added better fan,,,, all the simple stuff, and it just is running slow. HELP!!!!

I have the pc mentioned and I have upgraded to 2 hard drives,one 40 and one 20, 600 mhz processor and 256 ram( have another 128mb on the way for it) and I want to know how far I can go on the processor and what are the benefits and risks and how are is it to do and I guess where to get it at a good price.

I use Paragon Partition Manager to merge them together. But it seems that I can't. What should I do to be able to merge them together and have my used to be 35 GB drive back to 35 GB (currently it's 28, 7 was unallocated).

Ok folk's...I'm watching on ebay an older Tyan board with duel processor supported already running 800mhz. in two sockets. Now does this mean when its running it will actual;ly run at 1600Mhz. and if not, then why have two cpu's.?

It's a Asylum GeForce 5200FX 256MB AGP card.

The screen is black after I insert the card in the AGP slot and start the computer, but when I remove it and cut the computer back on, the screen is fine.

Right. I have an asus a7v8x-mx motherboard in my PC, and wanted to upgrade to a better graphics card. I bought an Nvidia AGP card, but it doesn't want to work properly with the Asus board. When I put the card in, Windows XP begins to load, but before it gets to the welcome screen, the monitor goes blank and I get a "no video signal message". I've done some research and it sounds like I can't uninstall the original VGA graphics card that is built into the motherboard. There is no option to uninstall the card in BIOS and there are no special jumper pins. Through trial and error I worked out that I can get the Nvidia card to work in Safe Mode, but any attempt to change or save settings and the screen goes dead.

I've tried disabling the current VGA adaptor in Device Manager, but that doesn't work either.

So, am I going to be stuck with a useless card or is there some way of disabling the current video card in BIOS and avoiding the current conflict?

So I installed windows vista into my e-machines operating system. 2 weeks later it completely crashed, then few days ago, when i turn it on, the screen is absolutely blank and nothing shows up and it says "going to sleep mode". so basically it turns on without showing anything on the monitor screen. im currently using another computer in the house, but i would really like some help! any computer wiz's know how to fix this? i think it might be an internal problem.

When I turn my laptop on, it boots up then stops once windows is opening with a blue screen giving all these error codes and saying its dumping. I should have got more info from the screen but dont want to turn it off again in case I cant get it back on. At present I am running in safe mode.

This happened to my PC and I ended up binning it and buying a laptop - dont fancy throwing this away too!

Can anyone help? I dont have the XP disc to reinstall (just incase thats the problem).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, i just got a good hp a1730n and i decided to buy a new video card, the only problem is i realized that my power supply is only 300Watts ! . The video card i saw in bestbuy is

The only problem is it says on the system requirements that i need a 300W power supply, and technically, i think in order for
it to work i wud probably need a Power supply with 350 Watts.

SO i dunno, should i get it? and i can't afford to get a new power supply, so it's either buy the video card i mentioned above or just wait 3-5 months later when i have money to buy both.

My computer turn off by itself and the cd drive works perfectly so this morning I opened the computer to check why my computer turn off by itself.

It was because the two fans were full of dust and wont let the fan function correctly so I clean everything fans like new but now when i put my computer game which is new wont work no more it wont read any disc and i didn't messed with anything in the computer inside everything was just as it was.
