Most computers come with on board audio, so there shouldn't be a need to install a sound card. It is not a download, it is a piece of hardware. If you would ahve to install one it's not hard to do. Look here for info on building a computer. Just look for the section that applies to audio cards. The card itself will also come with directions for installation.

The Sound card is a hardware device that you fix on one of the pci slots. Some motherboards do come with a onboard solution (which is already there on the motherboard). If your motherboard does not have that capability, you could always purchase it and install ( fix) it ( any tech would be able to do it). But my guess is, since its a new computer its highly unlikely that it did not come without audio capability. If you have got a set of installation Cd's with the computer, locate the audio driver and install it. when the driver is not installed or it has become corrupt ( happens sometimes when you install certain applications) the audio will not work. If you are really new to try out things get the help of a friend or a tech to fix the problem or just ask the shop that sold you the computer. :)

it should be on the motherboard itself... most probably you just have to install it...
here's what you do...
-insert the cd for the motherboar
-right click on my computer-properties-hardware- device manager
in there, look for icons with yellow triangles or red crosses - in all probability you'll find your soundcard with one of those...
if it has a red cross, rightclick it and select enable
if it's a yellow triangle, double click and choose reinstall driver (make sure the cd of the motherboard has been inserted into the drive beforehand)
-check that sufficient volume has been set, the speakers have been plugged into the right socket (you may have plugged them into the wrong socket)

a sound card is not an application that you can find in the internet.. you have to BUY it from stores.. its a HARDWARE... then ask a technician to install it...
