Hi, i just got a good hp a1730n and i decided to buy a new video card, the only problem is i realized that my power supply is only 300Watts ! . The video card i saw in bestbuy is

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...

The only problem is it says on the system requirements that i need a 300W power supply, and technically, i think in order for
it to work i wud probably need a Power supply with 350 Watts.

SO i dunno, should i get it? and i can't afford to get a new power supply, so it's either buy the video card i mentioned above or just wait 3-5 months later when i have money to buy both.

At times, wattage doesn't matter. That especially applies to today's hardware. Make sure you have a good Amperage on the +12V rail. You can normally check on the stick stuck to the PSU. look for 12V and check how much is on it. If you have 2 12V (+12V1 and +12V2) just add them up. It is more stable if you have at least 20A on +12V

You have enough wattage with your present PS. You can find out the power requirements for all your hardware in the internet. If you want to check.
