Recently bought a laptop and transfered all my photos from my old pc onto my mp3 player and installed onto laptop. Unfortunately they dont open automatically, have to click on to windows photo & fax viewer everytime i want to view photo and it dosen't give me the option of using that programme evry time(tick box not lightened)Cannot get the infomation as to what type of file they are now, it dosen't state it anywhere. Have used paint to change to jpeg but can only do 1 at a time(have lots of photos!). Do not have my old pc anymore. Does anyone have any ideas?

i have a philips ls1400 ( http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0255132296.1170763289@@@@&BV_EngineID=cceiaddkdffdiffcflgceggdhhmdgmj.0&page=Product&fm=17&sm=0&tm=undefined&sku=535205&category_oid=-28485 and want to add an extra 1gig of ram but am unable to determin what ram i need, pc world after some searching suggested that i needed DDR PC3200 but were unable to say for sure but pointed me to www.crucial.com/uk for an online scan but their suggestion was DDR2 PC2-5100 http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/viewscanbyid.aspx?id=1932653A31D926C3&tabid=&pagename= but couldn't offer any recommendations as it didn't have enough information about my system so i'm at a lost to know what ram to buy as i can't get a definitive answer so could someone please help me figure out what it is i need

ok, my pc is amd athlon xp 2600 1.91ghz 480mb of ram. i currently have a 80gb st 3800234, and a slave 40gb maxtor 5t040h4, video card via/s3g km400/kn400

i want to know what is best way to format my system so i can install windows at the correct disk ,so my counter strike game will stop freezing. also i have about 9gb of music, can someone give me some advise on this.

My motherboard accept both rams, but I have heard that DDR2 could perform less than DDR1 due to high latency in DDR2. However, that was in the past, theses days some newly manufactured DDR2 has less latency, therefore they can out perform DDR1.

My question is, HOW can I know that the DDR2 I am baying has less latency, is it written on it ? I want to verify my self without asking the shop keeper.

I would like to copy some screensavers and desktop backgrounds from my HP laptop to my Dell desktop. I asked this before but none of the answers are helping me too much.. I need to know
-how to do this
-where to find the files - screensavers and backgrounds both
-can i email them to myself (without something called a pin-driver) and download or put them onto the desktop
-how do i install them onto the desktop once I copy them to the desktop - SO THEY SHOW IN THE MENU ALONG WITH THE OTHER SCREENSAVERS??
***meaning what folder do I put them in so they will come up automatically in the properties - screensavers menu off of the desktop?

Please give extra details :) as to where to find them, how to copy them (on what) how to install, where to install so they show up in menu - please!! thanks! :o)

My dell PC only has a slot for one hard drive and I need to upgrade it to a larger one. I do have a WD External hooked up via firewire that I can back up the 20gb internal on. Does anybody now how to swap the two internals out without losing any data by using the external?

I got vista premium, The aero glass theme did not install. Im guessing it is because my computers score is not high enough. I have the appropriate video card. My memory is well over reccommended and my processor is to.
Can you tell me how to force aero on? Or can you tell me where I can get the aero glass theme/skin? Thanks

The way I see it, a virus can only reside on the hard drive. So, replacing it and using a system restore disk should solve the problem, right?

the price for the core 2 duo is more expensive, the intel wins in the l2 cache by 2x... besides that, i see no major difference

This is my third graphic card, before I had a pci-e and thanks to someone, I decided to wait a few months to get a new card. Now I have a second computer (My very own computer) and sadly it only has a pci slot. Now I've been told that Radeon X1300 is good and Geforce 6200 OC is good too. I want a card that will be able to give me good graphics on the Sims 2 and on World of Warcraft. What I want to know is which one is better and why?
