my sound card and my cd drive have both corrupted how can i fix them both?

OR
Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Defragment
Click the drive that coruppted. And Click Fix OR defrag

What are the symptoms? Loss of sound, staticy sound, no sound at all, can hear sounds-just not audio from CD?
Add some information to your post and we can figure it out :)
Has any work or repair been done to it recently?
